been designing aquatic play features since 1987; longer than any other supplier in theindustry;

installed features in over 2400 facilities worldwide; in-house manufacturing and design teams that work closely with sales, marketing and

project support on continuous quality improvement initiatives and new product concepts;

a quality assurance team to inspect the product throughout the manufacturing process andprior to shipment;

a team of Project Support Specialists that works with you through all aspects of the project conceptual design and layout, installation, facility start up and ongoing operation.

OUR PROJECT SUPPORT &CUSTOMER SERVICE ADVANTAGEWaterplays commitment to superior customer service begins when your first phone call is answered

immediately by a person that can help you get the information you need and continues from there.

You will work directly with a Waterplay Territory Development Manager and Project Support Specialist

through every step of development in your project from the concept, construction to completion.

Through the design process and as long as you own your park, your Waterplay Project Support team

member will work with you and your chosen team of experts. You have the opportunity to take

advantage of our vast park building experience and our hard-earned, field tested knowledge.

Waterplay Project Support responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

facilitating discussions between the owners on site project manager, general contractor,subcontractors, and lead designers;

assisting in establishing a line of communication to help ensure all critical installationprocedures, tests and approvals are performed by the General Contractor, on behalf of the

owner;

maintaining contact with the parties performing the installations, and alerting theappropriate individuals of any concerns which could adversely affect the quality and accuracy

of the installation;

ensuring support documents are readily available to assist the contractor with all aspects ofWaterplay feature installation;

Waterplays resources reach beyond the water feature installation portion of each project, touching

important areas including but not limited to: footings, surfacing techniques, sub grade preparation,

water supply and discharge methods, facility enhancements and ongoing care and attention

necessary to keep the owners investment in top condition. Our team is available from 7:00 a.m. to

5:00 p.m. (Pacific Standard Time) Monday to Friday.

OUR COMMITMENT TO QUALITY,SAFETY AND ACCESSIBILITYQuality, safety and accessibility are key design considerations for every project. You want to ensure

you select products that are built to last, that are safe for children and adults and that have

considered attendees with physical disabilities. Waterplay designs its products and selects materials

with safety, durability and play value at the forefront of every decision.

We use only the highest quality materials. Specifically, Waterplay

has been recognized for its commitment to quality through the achievement of ISO 9001Certification;

uses the largest, AISI 304 grade stainless steel pipe diameter in the industry to discourageclimbing and increase aesthetic appeal;

uses only Tiger Drylac Series 68 Super Durable powder coated paint with UV protectionintegrated into the powder the highest quality in the industry. This improves the fade

resistance of our features by 30%, particularly when bright hues (e.g. yellow, red) are selected;

has more nozzles per feature increasing the water effect and play value; addresses water consumption concerns through the availability of both low flow and high flow

options in over 95% of our components;

uses acetal in all of our nozzles to improve the longevity, play value and maintenance of thenozzles. Over time, Waterplay found that the dissimilar metals used with brass nozzle

installations bind together making it difficult (often impossible) to remove the nozzles for

maintenance. Acetal has proven to outperform brass nozzles and reduce maintenance costs over

the life of the facility.

It is a testament to the quality of our products that Waterplays first park, installed in Whistler, British

Columbia, Canada in 1987, is still operational today. Another park installed in 1991 in Central Park,New York is still operating and providing hours of fun for kids and their parents. There are not many

tougher test grounds than an unsupervised facility in the heart of New York!

In addition to product design and material considerations, Waterplay also employs quality control

measures to ensure the products we ship do in fact meet or exceed the stringent standards we

design into every Waterplay feature. Our quality assurance programs start with our suppliers. We

educate them on our expectations and measure their deliverables against these quality standards

prior to incorporating them into our features. We then inspect and pressure test each feature as it is

manufactured to ensure:

dimensional tolerance is maintained; welds are smooth and durable; the correct number and type of nozzles have been included; and the final finish is smooth and free of scratches or chips.

If an issue be discovered in the field, the process is reassessed and improvements are implemented

to ensure similar issues are eliminated in the future. Our goal is to continuously improve our features

and quality processes so that you can count on us to deliver every time.

Safety is Waterplays most heavily weighted design criteria. All of our features that will be

implemented where interaction between the children and the features is expected are designed tomeet or exceed the following standards:

ASTM F2461 Standard Practice for Manufacture, Construction, Operation andMaintenance of Aquatic Play Equipment

ASTM F2376 Standard Practice for Classification, Design, Manufacture, Construction,and Operation of Water Slide Systems

ASTM F1487 which is the Standard for Consumer Safety Performance Specification forPlayground Equipment for Public Use, where applicable.

CAN/CSA Z614 Safety StandardsOur controllers areUL certifiedand all controller enclosures are currentlyNEMA 4X certifiedand weare in the process of obtaining European certification.

Waterplay has been an active member of ASTM for over 10 years participating on committees to

evaluate and recommend improvements to existing safety standards. We were influential in the

development of ASTM F2461 and all Waterplay features are designed to this stringent safety

standard. In addition, we work with our clients to address local safety standards that may not be

addressed by compliance with ASTM such as building and electrical standards.

Everyone deserves to have equal opportunity to engage and interact with water. To this end,

Waterplay ensures that our features are ADA Compliant. Activator contact points are low to allow foraccessibility from various heights and loop or arch bases are wide enough to accommodate a

wheelchair.

IMPORTANT DESIGN CONSIDERATIONSAge Appropriate Activities:In developing your overall project vision, you need to consider many aspects that go far beyond the

selection and layout of aquatic play features. We understand this and will work closely with you to

ensure the Waterplay portion of the project goes as smoothly as possible. Our water spray park

experts will help you select from hundreds of features to develop a unique design that considers, as

much as possible given your specific project requirements, age appropriate play areas, safety, proper

drainage and park flexibility as part of the overall design.

Understanding the average age of the participants you are targeting with your facility is important in

ensuring your project design accounts for the age appropriate selection of features and layout of the

facility. Some things to consider in finalizing your design to help reduce the potential for collisions

and allow children to play at their own pace include:

high action areas - generally geared towards older children who want to run, and playsquirting each other with water cannons, anticipating the splash of the large mega-

soaker dumping bucket and racing down the looping, high speed slides;

intermediate play areas - for kids comfortable with interacting with larger spray features,dumping buckets, musical components and water cannons;

toddler learn and play areas - for kids who see the world from 2 feet off the ground orless. Ground sprays, lower flow components and shorter interactive features will allow

them to explore at their own pace without getting scared by waterfalls from far above

their heads.

Regardless of the project constraints you are working within, it is important to keep in mind that kids

want to interact with their surroundings in order to stimulate their senses and creativity. This is what

keeps them coming back to the facility over and over again. It might look nice, but is it really fun, is a

question that should be considered with every decision you make.

Drainage:In a zero depth facility, proper drainage is critical for health, safety and aesthetic reasons. Pooling

water is a safety issue and if left too long, can become a health issue as well. Waterplay includes two

critical features in every zero depth application:

1. Overspray zone this transitional area ensures the water in the facility flows back to thedrain. The overspray zone catches splashing and blowing water on windy days. This is

important for safety so that the spraying water does not pool up or create a soggy

perimeter where kids could slip and fall while running in and out of the spray area.

2. Multiple drains an article of clothing, leaves or sticks and debris can reduce a drainsefficiency and over time the area can become flooded. Paired drains can help reduce

flooding and significantly lower the chances of an unsafe environment.

Flexibility:We all appreciate having options. What if you have a limited budget this year but could expand the

facility in subsequent years? What if you would like to use your spray pad for alternate activities in

the off season? What if in a couple of years you would like to refresh your park and add new

components? You may want to consider incorporating Waterplays optional Detachable Exchange

system (DEX) allowing you the flexibility to phase your feature installations across multiple budget

years or interchange compatible water features. The ability to keep your facility updated, fresh and

new will appeal to participants and keep attendance high.

Aquatic Play Features:Interactive play is a great way to stimulate developing minds.

Putting smiles on the faces of children and laughter in parks is

what you are trying to achieve and we can help. Nothing brings

excitement to a facility like the intriguing world of shapes and

showers. Unpredictable sprayers, oversized water cannons and

larger than life creatures create spaces dripping with fun.

Not all interactive components are created equal. The design

team at Waterplay is focused on squeezing every ounce of playvalue out of our offerings. We want children to learn, explore and

feel truly engaged in the park not just get wet. We offer unique

combinations of spray, sound and cause and effect relationship

play to keep children interested for hours. We have also

incorporated an impressive array of components that can be rotated 360 degrees, truly giving the

children control over their play environment. No matter their age, no matter their ability our aquatic

play features are designed with everyone in mind.

Our team has done extensive research on how kids learn; the cause and effect relationship and

maximizing play value. Aquatic play features that make music or animal sounds, cause water to turn

on or off, and make buckets spill can provide hours of fun, intrigue and learning for kids.

With over 150 water features to choose from, the possibilities for you to build an amazing spray

facility are virtually endless. Add to the mix customized graphics and intriguing colour schemes and

Slide Activity Centres:Playing, socializing and having fun is an essential ingredient in healthy

living. Look around any playground and you will see children clamouring

up structures to gain a different perspective on the world; seeking the

thrill of whizzing to the ground so that they can run back up and do it all

over again and again and again. Now add water and you have an

unbeatable combination sure to encourage hours of energetic fun and

Whether you are looking to add extra pizzazz to a zero depth spray park or update a shallow pool, our

slides are just what you have been looking for. The modular construction and incorporation of

Waterplays spray features allows for flexible design and maximum play value. Our slides have been

designed with safety and durability in mind and focus on engaging the toddler and intermediate age

range in slide play when large, super structures may appear daunting. The plexi-glass panels allow

parents to see their children at all times while they play on the slide. Its stainless steel structure andfibreglass flumes will stand up to the rigorous demands placed on slides in high traffic, chlorinated

water environments.

Urban Water Features:Our urban water features have been designed to enrich quality of

life through the creation of extraordinary spaces. The pace of life

can be hectic and urban environments chaotic. Through thoughtful

design, you can create spaces that encourage people to gather,

communicate, relax and refresh. Architecturally and artistically

inspired, our urban water features provide a momentary pausefrom todays frantic pace of life. They invite children to experience

the joy of urban landscapes and they provide a peaceful sanctuary

for adults.

Our urban water features can provide a transitional design feature

for your project. You can include them in your zero depth play area

to add visual impact and appeal or use them individually as a

showcase feature in a shopping centre, city plaza or park. They

offer playful water effects by day and evolve to softly flowing water,

subtly lit by night.

Water Management Systems:Water conservation continues to be a topic that makes headlines in the news. As responsible

citizens, people everywhere are turning taps off when brushing their teeth, installing low flow toilets

in their houses, and using rain water collection barrels. Government and industry are under pressure

to ensure that they are doing their part for the environment and new regulations are springing up

everywhere concerning water management.

In an effort to provide you with the tools to build an

environmentally sensitive facility, Waterplay has

continually endeavoured to create new and

efficient products; we were the first in the industry

to offer low flow nozzles. But that was only the

beginning; we have continued to be proactive and

progressive in our designs to provide practical and

functional water management solutions.

The goal of any water management system is to be

as efficient as possible while maintaining water

quality. Our water management systems provide

three alternatives to your average potable or drain

to waste system - Water Treatment Systems and Retain and Reuse Systems. All three of these

options provide a more efficient use of water than draining to waste. Local health authorities will

dictate what you can or cannot do in your region with the use of the water collected from the spray

pad (gray water) and the chemical processes necessary for the treated water.

Design Features:Park Design: Waterplay consults with clients to optimize the design of their aquatic play pads andensure key environmentally friendly options are included. An overspray zone is always part of a

Waterplay design to ensure that the water is captured through the drain system rather than lost into

the surrounding environment. This reduces the chance of treated water leaking into the

environment, as well as improving safety and reducing maintenance.

In addition, controllers and activators are recommended to enable clients to sequence the water flow

through the various features so that the water is not running through every feature simultaneously,

or worse yet, running when no one is actually playing in the area. This reduces water consumption

while adding play value and visual interest.

Feature Design:In designing our aquatic play features, we recognized the need to balance the playvalue and water effects offered by high water flow features with water conservation techniques. As a

result, Waterplay offers high flow, low flow and enviro-flow nozzles in the majority of our components

without unduly impacting play value. This approach enables our clients to choose the water

consumption that is best suited to their environmental needs. For example, in a potable, drain to

waste park, low flow or enviro-flow nozzles are recommended while high flow nozzles are well suited

to a pool environment.

Water Management Systems: In keeping with our efforts to be progressive and responsible in allaspects of water usage and quality, Waterplay introduced water management systems. All three

options - Water Treatment System, Retain and Re-Use System, and Desalination System have been

built on the foundation of efficient water use and quality control giving you a wide variety of options

to choose from when designing your facility.

Using a Water Treatment System allows you to collect the water, chemically treat it to remove

bacteria and contaminants and re-use it in your facility, reducing the amount of water consumed in

operation. Similarly, Waterplays Retain and Re-Use System allows you to collect potable water for re-

use in a number of applications such as irrigation, street cleaning, municipal vehicle washing and/or

toilet flushing in adjacent facilities. Re-use applications are site specific and allowable gray water

usage is determined by local governing agencies.

Materials:Waterplays features are manufactured from recycled stainless steel and aluminum. The Tiger Drylac

Super Durable Powder Coated Finish used on Waterplays features is TGIC (Triglycidylisocyanurate)

free. Use of such materials also extends the usable life of the products.

In our manufacturing plant, Waterplay uses non-corrosive, biodegradable natural cleaners and

degreasers as well as non-toxic, biodegradable cutting coolants and lubricants. All of our tooling is

either repaired or recycled.

Business Practices and Processes:Waterplay has an active Safety and Environmental Impact Committee comprised of members from

all aspects of the organization. One of the mandates of this committee is to ensure that

environmental improvements are identified, documented and processes adhered to with the

objective of continuous improvement.

Waterplay uses hydro electricity to power our facilities and efficient radiant heating during cooler

months. All of our scrap material (stainless steel, aluminum and plastic) are recycled. Our staff are

committed to recycling of paper, general business materials, consumable product containers,

cardboard/packaging, etc. minimizing wherever possible any waste. In addition, we provide our

clients and dealers with access to materials, catalogues, product specifications, documentation, etc.
