Why we should teach PDHPE in Primary Schools (A RATIONALE)
PDHPE helps promote…
• An active lifestyle. (Studies show that overweight five year olds are ten times more likely to be overweight adults)
• Self-confidence. Children grow in confidence when they master a new skill.
• Resilience. Children learn to persist, compete graciously, and have fun.
• Children learn more when they are given regular opportunities to be active.
What about PDH?
Kids learn:
To COLLABORATE, cooperate, respect, listen, and share ideas.
They learn about NURTRITION, road safety, decision-making, PEER PRESSURE, water safety, and more. In short, everything they need to lead a healthy, safe, and productive life.
PDHPE
• Has the ability incorporate other key learning areas, including literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills in a fun and engaging way.
