Slit tip – Vällfors

The development of the Slit Tip is based on extensive practical and theo-retical studies.1, 2 The three slits of this suction tip allow the instrument, in prin ciple, to rest against the base of the wound with reduced risk of tissue grab. The suction itself is primarily lateral, giving a clean and synoptic operating field. Slit Tip suction instruments have easy-to-grip handles that facilitate precision in the work performed. The tips are white, provid ing better vis ibility in deep wounds than transparent suction tips.

Maxi and Maxette

The Maxi principle combines high suction capacity with atraumatic fluid suction. The secret lies in the double tube. With the finger control hole open for normal suction, these tips yield the same capacity as standard suction instruments with closed control vents. The negative pressure at the tip is a mere 20 mmHg, making suction completely atraumatic. With the control hole closed, the flow capacity is enhanced.

The Medena wide range of suction instruments assortment consists of single-use, dispo-sable products intended for removal of fluids during surgery. The assortment is intended for suction in various surgical applications, depending on the requirement of the procedure.

For example, the assortment includes models with- different tips, designed for gentle suction, - high volume suction capacityeasy access- variable suction force via a finger hole. - poole/rissler feature which makes it possible to cover a larger tissue surface.

ComponentsNo inner “shoulders”. The connec tion between the suction tip and tubing is designed to produce the least poss ible turbulence.

The extra long tube reduces the need for extra tube couplings.

MaterialThe tips, tubes, connectors and other components are made of PVC.

PackagingBoth complete suction sets and in divid ual components are supplied sterile and double wrapped – an inner plastic bag and outer, peel open, pouch. The outer, peel open, pouch is transparent plastic on one side and paper, complete with full product identification, on the other. The paper is specially coated to ensure that it is airtight and gives fibre-free open-ing. The peel open pouches are packed in corrugated cardboard trans-port cartons (575x385x410) with tear-strip opening and inner partition to min imize the risk of damage to either product or pouches.

SterilizationWellspect HealthCare product manufacturing adheres to a certified qua-lity system in accordance with ISO 13485:2016.Products are pre-sterilized with Ethylene Oxide.
