Soundcloud is an example of democracy as it allows users to access

and upload music. Soundcloud is democratised by peering as

normal/ordinary people can upload and contribute their music to the

site, and it allows users to use the website and listen for free.

Allows users to find unsigned artists as well as signed.

An example is unsigned artist ‘Ry Legit’ who has a variety of uploads

with some of his uploads such as ‘The Sweety Man’ having over

88,000 listens.

Despite Soundcloud being a sharing platform, it is almost a weak

example of Wikinomics as it is hard to see how artists can actually

make money from a website such as Souncloud, unless you are a

signed artist that can advertise buying songs on iTunes, or

advertising links to merch and tours etc.
