Wikis are great collaboration tools because they:•allow more than one person to edit each page.•allow many people to add to and edit the same content. •allow you to easily connect between pages inside the wiki.

Other great wiki features:•expandable structure – you can add as many pages as you need. •NON-LINEAR - you can jump around easily from page to page or section to section.•allow folders as well as pages - great for more complex projects with lots of sections. •store FILES – upload .doc, .xls, .ppt, .jpg, etc.

•Use the front page for group notices, your outline, and other housekeeping items.•Create clear organization – list out the logical sections before you create your folders and pages, add links to the sidebar to reflect these sections•Use comments instead of edits when warranted, i.e. to comment on a page without changing it•Monitor your group’s progress with the recent history section

COMMENT SPACELike blog comments, these are outside the normal body of
the wiki pages. They are uneditable once posted.

PBWorks includes many “template” pages. To use these, you can click on one from this menu and customize it, then link it in through the sidebar or an in-page link.
Delete them if you don’t think you’ll need them – they are clogging up your page list!

Through this view, you can •type content, •paste content from Word, •format the text on the page,•add links to internal wiki pages or external web pages by highlighting the text and choosing

Click EDIT to start editing a page.
ALWAYS REMEMBER TO CLICK SAVE!!!! Not just when you’re done, but once in awhile.
There is no auto-save feature!

On all pages EXCEPT the FrontPage,use the page menu (on right when in edit mode) to:•RENAME a page•DELETE a page
•add links to pages inside your wiki

From the page menu on the right side you can also:
•add images to the current page
•Upload files and then click file name
•From URL (image web address)
From the non-edit view (“VIEW” tab), you can access the previous versions of the page.

THE MOST IMPORTANT LINK FOR SUCCESSFUL COLLABORATION:
…you can:•Compare two versions of the page•Click on the Date/Time to see any previous version•Restore a previous version and replace the current version•Delete any version (careful!)
