The word wildlife is often used to mean animals found in the wild,it actually includes all the organisms living in natural habitats.

From the environmental point of view, each species plays itsown role in an ecosystem. It is also linked to several others through food chains and otherrelation.Destroying or depleting population of one species can havean impact on several others

Biodiversity means diversity in life forms or the variety ofspecies. The greater the variety, the faster is the pace of evolution. Also, a greater variety means a richer bank of geneticmaterial.

The largest scale killing of animals for food, trade and pleasure is one of the many causes forthe depletion of wildlife.

Deforestation destroys the habitat of animals, endangeringtheir survival.

The introduction of exotic species affects native species. Thus, their numbers grow unchecked, and they deprive thenative species of food and space.for example, when rabbits were introduced into Australiaand the spotted deer into the Andaman and Nicobarislands.

A forest many get flood with the construction of a largedam it may get fragmented by the construction of a road orrailway through it, which may then lead to its beingdestroyed further.
