Wild Rose College of Natural Healing BOTANY FOR HERBALISTS Part 2 Learning Families Wild Rose College of Natural Healing Terry Willard Cl.H PhD. ©2018 1 Botany 4 Herbalist Part 2 Learning Families – Seeing Patterns In this lesson, we are going to go back to the theme listed out in your text Botany in a Day (BID) Tutorial on page one and look at the nine major patterns of the nine families that represent some of the most common plants you will see. This again represent over 45,000 species, letting us get a solid footing in the world of plant ID. Not only are we going to be relying deeply on the book, we will liberally be using one of your best on-line resources, also associated with this book, the web page http://www.wildflowers-and-weeds.com. Thomas J. Elpel, the author of both the book and the web page, has put a lot of thought and work into these great resources, helping thousands of herbalists like yourself get a good handle on plant ID.
