Canada- 10 days (arrival at day 1 – departure at day 10)

Experienced guides will take you into the Wilderness, where we will learn about these

magnificent animals and try to find them, along with Coyote, Moose, Elk, Deer, Bighorn Sheep

and all the other wildlife.

We will teach and use Tracking methods and Camera trapping during this program. The areas

we will visit have healthy populations of Grizzly Bear, Black Bear, Wolf and Cougar.

When this trip is planned in winter, Bears will hibernate and we will focus on Wolves and

Cougars. In Spring, Summer and/or Fall we will focus on the four species.

Of course we won’t guarantee sightings, but you will get close….

Location: Rocky Mountains and Foothills, Alberta.

off in Calgary at 11.00 AM on Day 10

August 25 -Sept 3 2020

Costs: € 1700,-

(including lodging, exclusive travel from and to Calgary, food and drinks)

Minimum number of participants: 6

Maximum: 8

Lodging is included, but you will have to bring a sleeping bag.

Participants will have to take care of all the food themselves and sometimes we cook all

together. You could bring a stove, and other cooking material (cooking at a fire pit is possible at

Painted Warriors). Every day it’s possible to have dinner at a restaurant, Hamburger place or

Saloon as well. So if you don’t want to bring al that gear, it’s up to you. We have extra pans and

pots to cook at the firepit. But for a fast bacon and eggs breakfast (or coffee) it’s ideal to bring a

stove.

Most days we will go out early to scout and we will scout again at dusk.

Schedule

This schedule can change due to weather, wildlife sightings or other practical reasons. Our goal is to

see as much wildlife as possible and experience the incredible beauty of the area.

Day one: Pick up at Calgary airport at noon. After a 1 ½ hour drive we arrive at the Painted Warriors

Ranch. We will stop for shopping on the way.

At the Ranch we will make camp. Which means; pick a Trappers tent ( 2 or three persons a tent).

Tim Mearns and Tracey Klettl are the owners, they are both First Nation. Tim is an excellent tracker

and he will take us several times to find wildlife.

In the afternoon we will explore the area, check and/or set camera traps and see if we find tracks.

There are Wolves, Grizzly Bears, Black Bears and Cougars that roam the area.
