Axis Development, LLC
Limited Liability Company
CREATE STEAM: Cultural, Recreation, Art, Technology and Entertainment District to support Science, Technology, Education, Arts and Math: Community-based, Collaborative Planning of SL Tech District.
Lack of technology district in downtown Salt Lake City, urban blight, homelessness, engineering shortage, inability to train workers quickly to meet changing technology needs, need to integrate rural communities into urban technology jobs, poor health.
Axis Development is using an "open source", community-based (not government), collaborative approach to design a new neighborhood tech district in the Granary District. The technology community is coming together to help design and plan the district.
Rural communities that lack technology opportunities; technology companies that need collaborative environment to work together; young techies who want to live, work, learn and play in a collaborative space; homeless who need to be embraced into a community.
We are combining tech experts with real estate experts. We will be first major Utah redevelopment project to include technology, culture, education, health and wellness into urban design. We are using the community to build the community. Plus it's really cool!
Current and former top executives from Technology, Banking, Finance, Government, Construction, Urban Design, and Law.
This is a short-term project that will not require long-term funding. The plan will be implemented by the technology and real estate communities. We are supporting Salt Lake City and the development community to implement on specific projects.
TBDTBD
CREATE STEAM will create jobs for urban and rural communities, redevelop a blighted area, set a new bar for including technology, sustainability, education, health and wellness into urban design.
We will be able to measure the effectiveness of the plan by the number of dollars contributed to real estate development and business investment in the Granary District. For example, Google Fiber is providing infrastructure to support the plan.

Organization Name: Caribbean Pacific Foundation
Organization Type: Non Profit 5013C One line pitch: STEM MOBILE is a portable science, robotics and engineering lab that does school
WOW assemblies, walk through tours and afterschool hands on projects, inspiring students about Science, Technology, Engineering and Math fields. ISSUE Poverty cycles among students in immigrant, ESL and ultra-low income families occur when students do not know they can choose, like, or experience work in higher paying job fields such as STEM careers. In many of these families, (1 out of 4), the parents or parent work long hours in low paying jobs, so the student does not have modeled that there are options for them personally through STEM education.
The STEM MOBILE program takes STEM Watch Observe and hands on Working displays and school assemblies directly to elementary through high school students. Taught in English, Spanish and Tongan, the program promotes the message “Science and Engineering is cool!” and “YOU can do it!”
TARGET MARKET All students will benefit from the STEM MOBILE message and experience. However, the program is designed to be particularly motivational for the Utah Latino and Polynesian immigrant students or poverty cycle students through culturally diverse staffing of STEM MOBILE.
The programs advantage is the mobile ability to travel and go to multiple schools with needs
and support STEM afterschool programs for schools and other organizations such as 4H. The STEM
MOBILE working displays of 3D printing, micro machining, laser machining, composite vacuum
infusion, robotics and real world science and humanitarian projects will astound and inspire students.
ORGANIZATIONAL CAPACITY
The Project Initiative Leader, Chelsie Kraczek, is a bilingual business student at UVU with more than

them how to move out of the poverty cycle. She is supported by Johnny Kraczek, an international
scientist and engineer who developed OECS technology and assists composite educational program at
SLCC; Luis Antola an international government advisor; a culturally diverse team of technicians from
Caribbean Pacific Foundation; as well as students and faculty at UVU, U of U, USU, and SLCC.
Once launched this program will acquire funding from Utah Department of Work Force
Services - STEM initiative - after school programs, as well as assembly fees from local school districts,
Federal and State STEM grants and ongoing corporate donations.
IMPACT
STEM MOBILE program will present assemblies to 120,000 Utah students each year. Approximately
3000 students will participate in STEM after school and summer camps annually.
Metrics include counting the number of students presented to and the key metric is a measurable
increase in STEM interested graduates leaving high school.

Positive IQ Foundation
Non-Profit
A scientific approach to a positive workplace, which results in increased sales, productivity, engagement, retention and workplace satisfaction using Positive IQ's proprietary methodology.
Sales are 37% higher, productivity increases by 31% and employees are 3x more engaged when trained in positive techniques. Positivity is not completely pre-determined by genetics or environment; research validates it can be improved through training.
We are developing positivity research tools and a corporate training program. Some of the tools we are creating include an employee assessment, online data dashboard, and employee training programs that will create a more positive workplace.
Businesses and their employees will benefit. Positivity results in greater personal growth, engagement, workplace satisfaction, productivity, retention, and revenue. Training programs for corporations will be our sustainable funding source for future programs.
Positive psychology is a relatively young field, with very few entrants into the corporate training and research realm. Further, there is practically none employing evidence-based approaches with the research emphasis on effectiveness and efficiency.
Heather Van Duker, MS, has overseen 250+ projects. Catharine Sparks, MSc, has 6 years project and program management, and Micheal D. Sears, PhD, has 6 years research experience.
We are establishing a funding source through corporate research and training programs, which will fund our future efforts for individual personal development programs.
300,000200,000
The results of our program will be "great jobs" and "great employees." Employees will experience personal growth, higher workplace satisfaction & engagement. These result in increased sales, 14.9% higher retention, and customer satisfaction outcomes.
Workplace satisfaction, employee engagement, retention, sales, productivity and customer satisfaction.
