About our investigation
We have decided to count the lockers per section in the Wettinger house. We found out that there were 7 sections of lockers in the Wettinger house. We spent a whole math lesson counting lockers. There were no sections on the ground floor but there were on the first, second and third floors.
Median
The median is:20, 24, 32, 36, 41, 50=32 which is in the middle of all these numbers. This is the medium number of the amount of lockers there are in a section of lockers. All the numbers are put in order then the number in the middle is the median.
Mode
We found out that all the sections had different numbers of lockers. As we already said there are 7 sections of lockers in the Wettinger house, the numbers are: 20, 24, 27, 32, 36, 41 and 50. In math class we learned that if there are no same numbers all the numbers are the mode, so the mode is: 20, 24, 27, 32, 36, 41 and 50.
Range
The range is found by putting all the answers together, taking the last answer and subtract that number by the first number. Our answer was 30 and the subtraction was 50-20.
Mean
in math class we learned that the mean is several numbers divided by the number of results there are. E.G.: 1+2+3+4+5/5= 3 or the mean. Our numbers are 20+24+27+32+36+41 +50/7= just over 34 or if you want the exact number it is 34.285714 recurring.
