    JUNE 4, 1765

    TRANSCRIBED WILL OF WILLIAM CALLICOT

    AMELIA COUNTY, VIRGINIA

    IN THE NAME OF GOD, AMEN. I, WILLIAM CALLICOT, of the County of Amelia, being in perfect health of

    body and of perfect mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament and as touching such

    worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life, I give, devise and dispose of the

    same in the following manner and form:

    In primis my will and desire is that my beloved wife MARY remain possessed of the plantation whereon I

    now live also two negroes, Sam and Jude, likewise my household furniture and stock of cattle (after my

    decease) during her natural life or intermarriage and after her decease or intermarriage to revert to my son

    JAMES the said Sam and Jude also their increases. Likewise the said land, stocks, etc....

    ITEM. I give and bequeath my daughter MARY MANN two hundred acres of land adjoining the land of

    Henry Lesteralso one negro boy named Sterling, to her and the heirs of her body....

    ITEM. I give and bequeath to my daughter ANNA MANN two hundred acres of land adjoining the land of

    John Dupey. Also one negro girl named Phillis her and her increase to her and the heirs of her body....

    ITEM. I give and bequeath to my daughter TABBY two hundred acres of land adjoining Womacks land and

    Legons Road and one negro girl named Peg with her increase. Also one feather bed furniture to her and the

    heirs of her body...

    ITEM. I give and bequeath my granddaughter RACHEL BROOK(?) two hundred acres of land being part of

    the tract of land bequeathed my daughter RACHEL. Also one negro girl, named .with her increase to

    her and the heirs of her body.....

    ITEM. I give and bequeath my daughter LILLY ANN BROOK five shillings sterling to be levided on my

    estate and paid by my executors hereafter mentioned.

    I give and bequeath to my son JAMES all the residue of my estate, real and personal and if either of my

    before mentioned daughters die without issue together with the increase of such legacyor legacies shall

    revertto my son James, likewise the before mentioned tract of land and plantation together with the before

    mentioned slaves, Sam and Jude with their increase, shall after my dearly beloved wife MARY is deceased,

    shall revert to my sonJAMES and be by him possessed as before mentioned. I constitute and appoint my

    said sonJAMES myonly and sole executor of this my last will and testament, utterly disannulling and

    revoking all former wills and testaments by me heretofore made, and declaring this only to be my last will

    and testament. In witness whereof 1 have hereunto set my hand affix my seal fourth day of June one

    thousand seven hundred and sixty five
