AVECC Member wins Marathon Water HeaterDebbie Sampley of Van Buren was named as a semi-finalistin the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas' $50,000 EnergyEfficiency Home Makeover Manufactured Home edition. As a semi-finalist, Debbie was awarded a free high efficiencyMarathon water heater. She was selected out ofapproximately 1,500 applications that were submitted from across Arkansas. Read more
Energy Efficiency Tip - When it's hot outside, appliances and
lighting can actually heat up our homes more than we think. To saveenergy, minimize the activities that generate additional heat, such asburning open flames, continuously running a computer, or using hot-hair devices like curling irons. This will ultimately keep your housecooler.

Safety Tip - Make sure the area around your dryer is
clutter free and that the dryer lint filter is cleaned aftereach load. Build up can be a fire starter. A clean lint trap willalso allow your dryer to run more efficiently, saving youmoney on your electric bill.How to clean your lint trap, screen, and vent.

Holiday Greeting Card Contest Arkansas Valley Electric (AVECC) is looking forelementary school students (K through fifth grade)to submit a holiday card design.
The winning design will be used for the official 2014Arkansas Valley holiday card! These cards are mailedto friends of AVECC, Legislators and businessesacross the country.
In addition to having his/her artwork featured on this year's Arkansas Valley Electricholiday card, the winning artist will receive a certificate commemorating his/herachievement, as well as a $50 gift card.
