The member-ship dues are the same as last year. You can make payments online at www.wiltondalepool.org or by mail to Wiltondale Pool Committee, PO Box 27531, Baltimore, MD 21285-7531. It features food, flowers, crafts and entertainment. Towson’s annual Towsontown Spring Festival is April 30 and May 1. Details are available at www.towsontownspringfestival.com. The annual 5k and Fun Run to benefit Greenwood Park is May 7. Please fill out the enclosed registration form to sign up for this exciting event! Wiltondale’s community yard sale is May 21 from 9 a.m. to noon, so start preparing your items for sale. The Wiltondale community Dumpster Day will be held on Saturday, Apr. 2, 2011 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon or once the Baltimore County-provided dumpsters are full. The dump-sters will be located at the pool parking lot. There will be a dumpster for metals, yard waste and general refuse. Five volunteers are still needed to work one-hour shifts to assist in monitoring the materials that are placed in the dumpsters. Volunteers will be moved to the front of the line in appreciation for their assistance. Please…no early birds. Leaving materials in the parking lot will not be permitted. Please contact Anne Harriott at (410) 296-0063 if you have any questions or if you would like to volunteer. The Wiltondale Improvement Association will be subject to fines if the dumpsters contain prohibited items or the dumpsters are over capacity. Certain prohibited items in-clude household electronics, paint cans and flammable ma-terials. These materials will be accepted at the Baltimore County Spring 2011 Household Hazardous Waste Collec-tion Event on Sunday, April 3, 2011, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Baltimore County Resource Recovery Facility on Warren Road in Cockeysville. Baltimore County resi-dents may drop off unwanted household chemicals, paints, pesticides, medicines, mercury thermometers, fluorescent bulbs, rechargeable batteries, computers and home elec-tronics, ammunition and automotive fluids for recycling or proper disposal. No trash will be accepted at the household hazardous waste collection event.

WWWWIA President’s LetterIA President’s LetterIA President’s LetterIA President’s Letter In my opinion, the only good thing that comes from losing an hour’s sleep to Daylight Saving Time is that it's a sure sign of spring. Just a quick look out your win-dow or a walk with the dog will let you see and hear everything that helps us transition to the best time of year! Before we all start complaining about how hot it is, we will be able to experience our trees, bushes and grass turning that unique shade of green that is special to springtime. And with that comes the best that Wil-tondale has to offer -- the sounds of children playing outside, the smells of fresh-cut grass and barbecues, the delight of the Easter Egg Hunt, and last but not least, the opening of the pool. Although it’s been said so often that we can take it for granted, we are all pretty lucky to be living in Wiltondale. Unfortunately, things are not so wonderful around the world. Recent events in Japan make us realize that all can be wiped away in an instant. Our homes, work places and indeed our lives are fragile and can be af-fected by so many things. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Japan as they begin to rebuild and work to halt a pending catastrophe. But the other side of the globe is not the only place where people require assistance. You can find people in need just about anywhere you look. There may even be some here in Wiltondale. If you haven’t already, take a minute to check on an elderly or disabled neighbor. On your way to the store, maybe offer to pick up a few groceries for a friend or take it upon yourself to mow his or her lawn every now and then.
