WINCHESTER CITY COUNCIL What Conservatives have achieved in Denmead Ward
DEMENTIA CARE As people live longer so the number of people diagnosed with dementia is increasing but
awareness of its effect on carers as well as the sufferers is also increasing. Your Councillors have been working
with organisations and local businesses to provide some social respite at the Denmead ‘Dementia Memory Café.’ A
well received facility.
Work with the relevant authorities to address the amount of fly-tipping and litter in and around
Denmead and Newlands. Cleaning up is expensive and we, the tax payers, foot the bill. I want to
find a way of stopping this. Will you help me?
If elected I will:
Work towards the development of more affordable housing in the ward to meet a proven local
need
Work to raise the profile of our local businesses in the rural and developing areas
Strive at all times for you, the residents of Denmead ward, making your welfare, interests and
concerns my priority.
NEWLANDS WALK PLAY AREA Wherever there are children there is an opportunity to ensure they can run, climb and
play in safety. The new play park in Newlands which has been funded and maintained by Winchester City Council
has been welcomed and is much used by the children of Denmead & Newlands.
ANMORE DEVELOPMENT Work has now begun on the building of new homes on Carpenter’s Field. During the
process your councillors have listened to the concerns of residents and ensured that the proposed development
does not exceed the limits of development originally agreed. The development offers more affordable housing in
Denmead and an opportunity for our younger residents to continue to live in the village.
