First, Windows 10 was released July 29th in mass to the public. For many of you already running Windows 7 or above, you’ll see a new Window icon on your taskbar to reserve our free upgrade.
The free upgrade is
available for 12 months

Should I upgrade… it’s free?

Windows 10 starts faster, uses less memory, and is being taught new
tricks like compressing memory on the fly that Windows 8 will never
learn.
User preferences also sync really nicely between machines, so once
you get the Start menu layout set up on one device, for example, you
can have it show up that way on all your machines.
The new Start menu is a combination of the best of 7, 8 and
Windows phone!
If you need Windows Media Center, stay with Windows 8

game console Xbox One to Windows 10 devices”
“Cortana has also told half a million jokes….”

Steve Teixeira (@SteveTex) at Microsoft says:
We’re embracing the simple principle of
helping Makers and device builders do more
by bringing our world-class development
tools, the power of the Universal Windows
Platform, direct access to hardware
capabilities, and the ability to remotely debug,
update, and manage the software running on
Raspberry Pi 2 devices.

Using mobile technology, the cloud-
based system gathers control-system
data to produce reports and
dashboards on the condition of an
individual vehicle’s drive train and
fracking performance, as well as
process performance and maintenance
trends related to entire fleets.
Creating cloud-connected elevators
ThyssenKrupp Elevator transformed
data from thousands of sensors into
valuable business intelligence.
Back in February, when we launched
Raspberry Pi 2, the sharp-eyed among
you will have noticed the folks at
Microsoft making an announcement
about bringing. We’re excited to share
that Windows 10 for IoT landed on the
Raspberry Pi – along with a ridiculously
cool demo.
The chap in the video is HoloLens
designer Alex Kipman.
