Windows 7 Windows 7 (formerly codenamed Blackcomb and

Vienna) is the next release of Microsoft Windows, for use on personal computers, including home and business desktops, laptops, Tablet PCs, netbooks and media center PCs.

Windows 7 is an incremental upgrade to Vista, with the goal of being fully compatible with device drivers, applications, and hardware and have focused on multi-touch support, a redesigned Windows Shell with a new taskbar,HomeGroup and performance improvements .

Many new items have been added to the Control Panel including: ClearType Text Tuner, Display Color Calibration Wizard, Gadgets, Recovery, Troubleshooting, Workspaces Center, Location and Other Sensors, Credential Manager, Biometric Devices, System Icons, Windows Action Center, which encompasses both security and maintenance of the computer.

Taskbar changed with “Superbar “ with has more facilities. “Peek” is a quick way of making all visible windows transparent

for a quick look at the desktop. Better support for Solid State Drives and Windows 7 will be able

to identify a Solid State Drive uniquely. Adds online versions of Spades, Backgammon and Checkers.
