Windows NX 8.5 Download
From the Windows 7 Taskbar, Click Start, Computer,
Right click in any “whitespace” and click “Add a network location”
On the “Welcome to the Add Location Wizard” screen
click Next.
On the “Where do you want to create this network location?” screen,
select “Choose a custom network location”, and click Next.
In the “Internet or network address:” text box type
https://myfiles.unf.edu/CCECGis/NX and click Next.
Note: You will not be able to access this link using the UNF Guest
wireless network. You must either use UNF‐Secure or be off campus
to access myfiles.unf.edu.
Enter your UNF N‐number and UNF password and click OK.

In the “Type a name for this network location:” text box type “NX
Files” and click Next.
Click Finish.
Copy the NX‐Windows folder to your local computer before starting the install.

Mac NX 8.5 Download
From Finder, click Go and select Connect to Server.
In the “Server Address:” text box type
https://myfiles.unf.edu/CCECGis/NX and click Next.
Note: You will not be able to access this link using the UNF Guest
wireless network. You must either use UNF‐Secure or be off campus
to access myfiles.unf.edu.
Copy the NX‐Mac folder to your local computer before starting the
install.

NX 8.5 Windows Install
Determine which Windows operating system you have (64‐bit or 32‐bit) by going to Start / Control Panel / System and
verify the System Type. Use the appropriate folder for the NX install based on your System Type.
nx‐8.5.0‐32bit NX for Windows 32‐bit Operating Sytems
nx‐8.5.0‐64bit NX for Windows 64‐bit Operating Sytems

From the NX folder (nx‐8.5.0‐32bit or nx‐8.5.0‐64bit) run Launch.exe
From the “NX 8.5 Software Installtion“ screen, click Install NX.
Click OK.
Click Next.
Select Typical and Click Next.

Click Next.
In the Enter server name(s) or a license file” text box enter
[email protected] and click Next.
Note: eiffel.ccec.unf.edu is the NX license server and cannot be seen
using the guest wireless network or off‐campus. You will get the
following message. Just click OK and continue with install.
Select the language to use (default is English) and click Next.
Click Install.
Click Finish.

NX 8.5 Documentation Install (optional)
From the Win‐Docs folder run Launch.exe
Click OK.
Choose either the 32 bit or 64 bit install based on your
Windows System Type.
Click Next. Click Next.
Click Install. Click Finish.

From the NXCAST85‐win folder run AutoPlay.exe
Click either the 32‐bit or 64‐bit based on your Windows
System Type.
Click Next.
Click Next. Click Install.
Click Finish.

NX 8.0 License Checkout Licenses can only be checked out while connect to UNF‐Secure wireless network. The check out process will not work
off campus or on the guest wireless network.
Open Start \ All Programs \ Siemens NX 8.0 \ NX License Tools \ Licenses
Options (Take a few minutes)
Click Bundle Selections tab, Select ACD30 bundle, and click Add>>,
Select ACD31 bundle, and click Add>>
Both bundles should appear under the “Selected Bundle(s)’ box.

Click Borrowing Selection tab, enter a Return date/time not to
exceed 3 months from current date, select both license
options and then click Borrow license(s).
Click OK to borrow license.
The return date should appear next to each license. Click OK to start
license checkout.
This could take a couple of minutes to
process.
This message will appear if you enter a return date that is greater than
3 months. Try again with a new return date.
