1. Fontein Ridge, Chenin Blanc Western Cape, South Africa £12.95This medium bodied wine shows a beautiful melange of guava, passion fruit with a hint of citrus. Great with fish, chicken and a fine aperitif.

2. Villarrica Sauvignon Blanc Maule Valley, Chile £15.95Fresh, vibrant and unoaked, with prominent citrus, gooseberry and grapefruit flavours which fill the mouth and culminate in a lingering finish.

34. Château de Fleurie Beaujolais, Burgundy, France £31.99“Just about the most drinkable red you’ll come across – the bottle will be empty twenty minutes after you open it. Medium bodied, dry, and fresh with crunchy redcurrant, black cherry, and a little woody spice. Yum. 4 STARS. (Paul J. Kiernan, The Grapes of Sloth) “lovely berry, floral tinged perfume. It has lots of fruit but with a firm structure underneath. Very tasty and delicious now. Outstanding.” (John Tilson, The Underground Wine Letter, New York)

35. Château Lamartre, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Bordeaux, France £39.95Owned by the Vialard-Patureau family for 2 generations and covers an area of 11.58 hectares. Situated in Saint-Etienne de Lisse, at the bottom of the slopes, the estate benefits from a good exposure to the South. The vineyard is made up of 83% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Franc. A big rich St-Emilion with ripe blackberry, damson and black cherry fruit. Sweet, juicy tannins, spicy cinnamon and cedar oak and lively acidity complete the picture.

Made from old vines Carignan, Grenache, with smaller portions of Merlot and Syrah. Rich, textured & full bodied with pine, chocolate, cherry, plum and currant notes with a mineral character. Only 3500 bottles produced.

42. Henri Abelé N.V. Brut, Champagne, France £59.99Henri Abelé is one of Champagne’s oldest Houses founded in 1757. It was served onboard the Titanic which left Belfast on the 2nd April 1912. Interestedly, marine archaeologists have recovered over 7000 artefacts from the wreckage of the ship including a bottle of Henri Abelé Champagne. “91/100” (Wine Enthusiast). A big, plush, yeasty nose sends sweet notes of cracker and toast above lime and mineral; the flavors that follow are forward, round and rich. Hints of mango and papaya fruit lead into a sensuous, lightly spicy, thoroughly satisfying finish.
