From the Modern Melody Basics - Black (C), cut:• (3) 1” x WOF strips. Sub-cut (8) 1” x 11 ½” strips.• (3) 1” x WOF strips. Sub-cut (8) 1” x 12 ½” strips.

From the Tossed Wine Accessories - Gray/Multi (D), cut:• (1) 1 ¾” x WOF strip. Sub-cut (2) 1 ¾” x 12 ½” strips.• (1) 3” x WOF strip. Sub-cut (3) 3” x 12 ½” strips.• (3) 2 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (2) 2 ½” x 58 ½” strips.

From the Words Tone on Tone - Mustard (E), cut:• (4) 1 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (2) 1 ½” x 60 ½” strips.• (1) 1 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut (2) 1 ½” x 16 ½” strips.

From the Wine Seals - Black/Multi (F), cut:• (1) 4 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut (4) 4 ½” squares.• (7) 3 ½” x WOF strips. Sub-cut (52) 3 ½” x 4 ½” strips.

From the Wine Glasses - Light Gray (Backing), cut:• (1) 34” x 76” strip to make the back.

Runner Sewing Instructions1. Sew (1) 2” x 10” Fabric B strip to each side of (1) 10” Fabric A square. Sew (1) 2” x 13” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A square to make (1) Unit 1 square (Fig. 1). Square to unit to measure 11 ½” x 11 ½”. Repeat to make (4) Unit 1 squares total.

2. Sew (1) 1” x 11 ½” Fabric C strip to each side of (1) Unit 1 square. Sew (1) 1” x 12 ½” Fabric C strip to the top and to the bottom of the Unit 1 square to make (1) Block One (Fig. 2). Repeat to make (4) Block Ones total.

3. Place (1) 3 ½” Fabric B square on the top left corner of (1) 4 ½” Fabric F square, right sides together (Fig. 3). Sew across the diagonal of the smaller square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 3). Flip open the triangle formed and press. Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle ¼” away from the sewn seam to make (1) Unit 2 square (Fig. 4). Repeat to make (4) Unit 2 squares total.

4. Repeat Step 3 using (52) 3 ½” x 4 ½” Fabric F strips and (52) 3 ½” Fabric B squares to make (26) Unit 3 strips and (26) Unit 4 strips. Use Figures 5 & 6 for seam directions.

Center Block

Runner Top Assembly (Refer to Figure 9 while assembling.)7. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 16 ½” Fabric E strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 60 ½” Fabric E strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block (Fig. 9).

8. Sew together (3) Unit 5 strips to make (1) side border. Repeat to make a second side border. Sew (1) side border to each side of the Center Block. Sew together (2) Unit 2 squares and (10) Unit 5 strips, paying attention to unit orientation, to make (1) top border strip. Repeat to make (1) bottom border strip. Sew the border strips to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block to make the runner top.

9. Layer and quilt as desired.

10. Sew the (5) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric B strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press.

11. Bind as desired.

5. Sew (1) Unit 3 strip to the left side of (1) Unit 4 strip to make (1) Unit 5 strip (Fig. 7). Repeat to make (26) Unit 5 strips total.

6. Refer to Figure 8 below to sew together (2) 1 ¾” x 12 ½” Fabric D strips, (4) Block Ones and (3) 3” x 12 ½” Fabric D strips. Sew (1) 2 ½” 58 ½” Fabric D strip to the top and to the bottom of the resulting strip to make (1) Center Block.

Place Mat Top Assembly (Refer to Figure 12 while assembling.)14. Sew (1) 3 ¼” x 12 ½” Fabric D strip to each side of (1) Block Two to make (1) place mat top. Repeat to make (4) place mat tops total.

15. Layer and quilt as desired.

16. Sew the (7) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric C strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press. Divide the long strip into (4) equal lengths.

17. Bind as desired.
