Since 1933, Baron Philippe de Rothschild SA, located at Pauillac in the Médoc, has been motivated by a constant ambition: to make the world's finest wines, each in its own category, whether the châteaux wines for which it is responsible – the renowned Château Mouton Rothschild, a First Growth, and its distinguished lieutenants, Château Clerc Milon and Château d'Armailhac – or branded wines, like the famous Mouton Cadet.

Baron Philippe de Rothschild SA has also exported its know-how beyond Bordeaux: to the Pays d'Oc, with a range of varietal wines and, more recently, Domaine de Baron'arques; to California, with Opus One; and to Chile, with Almaviva.

One of the key factors behind the company's undisputed success is the art of blending, which it practises with exceptional skill. Baroness Philippine de Rothschild, the majority shareholder of Baron Philippe de Rothschild SA, works closely with the executive directors to maintain, modernise and develop the family business.

Few words about the famous « MOUTON CADET »…

Since 1930, Mouton Cadet has been renowned for its exacting standards and audacity. The fruit of generous Nature and the work of human hands, the result of the encounter between an exceptional terroir and the passion of Baron Philippe de Rothschild (1902-1988), over the years Mouton Cadet has consistently combined quality, prestige and know-how in an expressive, seductive wine. Today, Mouton Cadet has become the worldwide reference for Bordeaux Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée wines.

An intense, ruby red with purple highlights.

The wine has a rich, open nose with attractive aromas of red berry fruit (raspberry, cherry) and strawberry jam accompanied by a touch of menthol.

Round and full on the palate, it displays fine balance, with an elegant tannic structure and a pleasant range of crisp, fruity flavours enhanced by a touch of liquorice.

The exceptionally rich flavours and aromas of the long, succulent finish reveal all the harmony and fullness of the varietal mix.
