Wine - what is it?

• A fermented juice made fromgrapes

• It is made from a special kind ofgrapes called vinis vinifera

• White wine is made from whitegrapes, the red and rosé one from red grapes

• There are many detailed wineproduction methods and theycan, to a bigger or smallerextend, influence its taste

• Wine has natural residual sugar, so sweetening of any kind isinadvisable

• Grapevine, as the only plant, canimitate the tastes of all otherfruit

Tasting

Tasting technique:

Colour: The evaluation of the age and concentration of wine

Bouquet: The most important aspect, the evaluation of the complexity, elegance, advantages and disadvantages of wine

Taste: The evaluation of balance, matureness, the level of acidity and sugar. The finish.

General evaluation: If the wine is tasty, what it tastes with, how it tastes, if the bouquet corresponds with the taste, if it is worth its price, if it has characteristic features?
