Letter From Pete Baldine, President 2015 Success

2

To date, we have enjoyed some great successes in the first half of 2015 on many fronts. In terms of system growth, there are many things to be proud of. In the first six months of 2015 we have signed on five new franchisees committing to the addition of 27 new locations. Two of those franchisees are for master franchise agreements in North Africa, our first international expansion. We also have added David Rowland, a talented executive that has committed to develop the Houston market for Alta Mere® The Automotive Outfitters. We are excited to have David on board and to begin some new growth for Alta Mere®.

We are very excited to get approved by Frannet, the premier franchise broker group in the country, and to be included in their inventory. Frannet goes through a very extensive due diligence process before adding a new franchisor, including speaking with many franchisees. I’m pleased to say we passed their scrutiny with flying colors. Thanks to all of you who helped with that validation. This relationship will be instrumental for future growth of our system.

I am proud to highlight some great performances by franchisees in 2015. Milex franchisee, Albert Daniel, in Frederick, MD has done a super job in continuing to grow his business at a strong pace with a 20% increase over last year. He is ready to add his second center in MD next month. Another Milex franchisee, Jason Kuriger, in Crest Hill, IL has experienced tremendous growth this year with a 21% increase over last year. I have been there many times with my own vehicles and he is one outstanding operator who just loves what he is doing. Mr. Transmission/Milex franchisee, Alan Polson, has taken over the Marietta, GA store with absolutely tremendous results. Alan has virtually tripled the sales. At the beginning of the year we completed our rebranding of Alta Mere® to Alta Mere® The Automotive Outfitters. This included new products, a new interior layout with electronic displays and sales tools along with many other features. All nice stuff and impressive looking but results are what counts. I’m proud to say that Greg Goodman has executed this new strategy to the tune of a 16% YTD increase in sales and a 31% increase in July year over year. The Alta Mere® brand

has experienced a 7% YTD increase over last year as well. We couldn’t be happier with these results and thanks to Greg for playing a significant role in this re-development.

Albert Daniel, Milex

It’s all about results, folks, and the first half of 2015 has been very exciting. The second half will be exciting as well since many positive things are already under way. I love seeing this company grow and I love seeing our franchisees achieving such great successes. Let’s finish up 2015 with a great second half!! Warm Regards,

Peter Baldine President

Moran’s Open House An overview

On July 23, 2015, Moran Family of Brands held their annual open house. We would like to thank everyone that showed up and participated in the various classes and activities that were provided by several Moran staff members and partnered vendors. We hope to see everyone again next year! Ron Frydrychowski, C.O.O. of Moran (left): “Operationally, one of the most consistent problems we are seeing is the proper execution of the phone procedure. During the open house, Jim Bair explained how we had mystery shop calls

Chad Sajovic, Marketing Director (bottom left), introduced several fantastic business-building opportunities for franchisees. He also introduced his Marketing team that can help the process. Nick Lamacki, Marketing Coordinator and Sarah Kudia, Marketing Coordinator/Graphic Designer are available to make your creative ideas come to life. Roni Bava, Compliance Director (lower right), is also showing Moran staff and franchisees how to stay calm in any given situation. Just breathe! that the customer would even ask if they needed an appointment and the response was “no, just bring it in anytime”. Many may think that is more convenient for the customer, however, that leaves the customer with not having to make a commitment; this is and has always been a huge part of our phone procedure. Setting the appointment and getting that commitment will make that customer feel committed, or at least sets an expectation that, as a shop, we will commit to checking out the customer’s vehicle and finding what is wrong with it. We need them to commit to a time to come in so we can keep our commitment. Read more on page 5.

Serina and Albert Daniel, Milex (left side of the photo), are sitting next to Linda Norton, Mr. Transmission/Milex Complete Auto Care and Ron Fry, C.O.O. of Moran. Albert and the Milex Family were voted twice as Franchisee of the Year and also won an Award of Excellence in 2014, among several others. As you can see by their smiling faces, the Daniel’s are two franchisees that are in good spirit. What they do beyond their automotive Center is both respectable as well as moving. If you know someone who is a victim of cancer or Alzheimer’s, you know how much these two things can impact not only the victim’s life, but

Greg Goodman, Alta Mere (seen sitting down in the photo above), is showing an impressive view of his Center in Oklahoma City. As he navigates around his Center, customers can get a very detailed view of everything being displayed inside as well as the overall cleanliness and sleek layout of marketing products. Alta Mere supports the Gary Goodgear Foundation as their choice charity. Gary Goodgear was founded in 1993 by Moran Family of Brands, The Gary Goodgear Foundation was established to help those who cannot help themselves during an emergency, disaster situation, and also for those individuals who have nowhere else to turn for financial help in time of crisis.

Jim Bair, Franchise Business Representative of Moran (bottom) focused on how franchisees can grow their business and improve customer reviews by doing simple things such as having a proper phone procedure, selling HOPE to customers regarding a problem that may or may not exist (think: expenses) and honoring current discounts even when customers don’t realize that there are any. Here are a few statistics regarding our mystery shops that Jim presented: As a company, how well are we doing?1. Proper Salutation/Greeting? 68%2. Request Vehicle Year, Make, & Model? 80%3. Request Description of the Problem? 96%4. Did the Center Manager Recommend & Explain the Free Performance Check? 60%5. Did the Center Manager offer Free Towing? 36% 6. Did the CM Set a Firm Appointment? 32%7. Ask the Customer for the Correct Spelling of Their Name? 24%8. Ask for Home/Work Phone? 44%9. Give Our Address and Directions? 40%10. Did the CM Give His/Her Name a 2nd Time? 40%11. Did the CM Thank the Customer? 60%12. Did the CM Quote a Price for the Transmission? 40% There are a few steps you can make to improve business! 1. Monitor the calls! Listen to and know how your calls are being handled. 2. Measure the conversions. How many are leads? How many were converted to appointments? Use the DCR! 3. TRAIN your team! Make sure your CM attends Manager training at Moran! Bottom line? These steps WILL make a difference! View the entire presentation with complete details and statistics by visiting the FACTS website.
