WINNIPEG JETS vs. CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS MTS CentreThursday, October 29, 2015 – 7:00 PM (CT)Game 10                (5-3-1) Home Game 6       (2-2-1) GAME PREVIEW The Winnipeg Jets (5-3-1) wrap-up their six-game homestand by welcoming the Chicago Blackhawks (6-3-0) to MTS Centre tonight. The Blackhawks are coming off of a four-game homestand, where they went 4-0-0, including their last two games that were decided inovertime on goals from Winnipegger and captain Johnathan Toews. The reigning Stanley Cup champions are 1-2-0 on the road so farthis season. Last year, the Jets got the better of the Blackhawks, going 3-1-1 against them. Captain Andrew Ladd led the team withseven points (1G, 6A) against the Blackhawks in those five games. After today’s game, the Jets will next face the Blackhawks inDecember, when the two teams will square off twice at United Center in the span of six days. They’ll first meet on Sunday Dec. 6/15,and then again on Friday Dec. 11/15. The Blackhawks will also return to Winnipeg for games on Mar. 18/16 and Apr. 1/16.TEAM NOTES Playing the champsSince the Jets relocated to Winnipeg, the team has been quite evenly matched when playing the reigning Stanley Cup Champions theseason after they’ve won the cup. The Jets got the better of the Los Angeles Kings – the 2014 champions – last season, winning two oftheir three matchups. The Jets one losing season against the reigning champs was in 2013-14 when they lost three of four games tothe Chicago Blackhawks. In 2012-13 (the lockout shortened season), the Jets didn’t face the then cup winners LA Kings. And during the2011-12 season, the Jets went 2-2-0 versus the Boston Bruins who won the cup in 2012. In total that brings the Jets’ record to 5-6-0when playing the reigning league champs. Playing the CentralWhen the Jets and Blackhawks play tonight it will be the Jets third game against a Central Division opponent. So far the Jets are 1-1-0within their division, with a win against the Minnesota Wild, and a loss to the St. Louis Blues. The Central Division standings areextremely congested. Six of the seven Central Division teams have 11 or more points, which is more than any other division in theleague. Last season the Jets proved to be strong against their divisional foes, putting up a record of 16-8-5 in divisional games. Takeaway timeWinnipeg sits fifth in the league with 65 takeaways so far this season. The Jets tied their season high of 11 takeaways in their Tuesdaynight game against the Los Angeles Kings. The Jets have bettered their opposition in the takeaway department in five of their first ninegames. Last season the Jets had 536 takeaways, which put them at 14th in the league. Mark Scheifele leads the team with ninetakeaways. Comeback kidsIn seven of Winnipeg’s first nine games this season, they have given up the first goal to their opposition. Yet the Jets have a 4-2-1record in those games. The Jets’ four wins after giving up the first goal leads the league, two other teams have won three games afterconceding the first goal. The Jets are also one of only six teams in the NHL to have come back to win two games this year whenthey’ve been trailing after the first period. In total, the Jets have trailed after the first 20 minutes in three games, and have a 2-1-0 recordin those games. Last season the Jets were 5-12-1 when trailing after the first, and had an 11-16-6 record when giving up the first goal. PLAYER NOTES Ehlers rollingJets’ rookie Nikolaj Ehlers is on a three game goal streak. The 19-year-old is tied for fourth amongst all NHL rookies in goals scored, with four (as of Oct. 28). Ehlers goal on Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Kings brings his point total to seven (4G, 3A) on theseason. Ehlers is the third Jets’ player to record a three-game goal streak this year, as Mark Scheifele started the season off with agoal in each of the first three games, and Drew Stafford recorded four goals in three games from Oct. 18-25/15. Hitting his mark

Dustin Byfuglien is second on the team with 32 total hits. Playing their old teamBefore becoming Atlanta Thrashers in two separate trades during the summer of 2010, Andrew Ladd and Dustin Byfuglien bothplayed for the Chicago Blackhawks.
