15. School No. 1 – “Muffins w/Mom” & “Donuts w/Dad”

Approve School No. 1 H.S.A. to host Muffins with Mom and Donuts with Dad for all of student’s parents to attend for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. The events will take place on Friday, May 18, 2018 and Thursday, June 7, 2018 and will be held in the All Purpose Room from 8:30-9:00 AM. Sodexo will be providing food for both events. H.S.A. will be paying for food items.

16. School No. 1 – Guest Speaker

Approve School No. 1 to invite Officer Samuel Funches of the Evesham Police Department and K9 EZ to perform a demonstration for students on June 26, 2018. Mrs. Funches conducted classroom lessons on career exploration to students in preschool through third grade and this demonstration will align lessons presented to students with our community helpers.

17. School No. 1 – Third Grade Concert

Approve School No. 1 to have their third grade annual concert on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 in the all-purpose room at 2:00 and 6:30 PM.

18. School No. 2 – Third Grade Spring Concert

Approve School No. 2 Third Grade Spring Concert as follows: o May 24, 2018 at 2:30 for School 2 students o May 24, 2018 at 6:30 for family/friends

19. School No. 3 – Third Grade Spring Concert

Approve School No. 3 to have their Spring Concert on Tuesday, June 11, 2018 at 6:30 PM in the All Purpose Room. The entire 3rd grade class will be performing. Parents and community members are invited to attend.

20. School No. 5 – Field Day

Approve School No. 5 Field Day for Tuesday, June 5, 2018 (Rain Date: June 7th). 21. School No. 6 – Ice Cream Truck

Approve School 6 to have Mr. Softee visit on June 17, 2018 to provide ice cream to all 6th graders.

22. WTMS – New Student Orientation

Approve Winslow Township Middle School to have 7th grade New Student Orientation on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 (School 5 at 5:30 PM, School 6 at 6:30 PM). This has been organized by administration and teachers in order to orient incoming students and parents to the Middle School curriculum programs, staff, building, and activities. Tours of the building will also be conducted with the support of the National Junior Honor Society students.

23. WTMS – Dance Club Spring Recital

Approve the Middle School to present a Dance Club Spring Recital on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 7:00 PM in the Winslow Middle School Cafeteria.

24. WTMS – 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony

Approve WTMS to hold the 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony on Monday, June 18th from 6:00-8:00 PM in the High School Gymnasium. Students will receive three tickets each to be distributed to family members.

25. WTMS – Google Expeditions AR Program Tours

Approve the WTMS Game Design, Robotics STEM, and Coding and Graphic Design teachers to host Google Expeditions AR Program Tours on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 for WTMS who participate in STEM. The students will participate in the following activities: Working with 3D objects, virtual reality, and working with prototypes. The presentation will take place throughout the day in the Middle School computer labs.

26. WTHS – 2019 Prom

Approve the WTHS Class of 2019 to host senior prom on May 10, 2019 at The Palace, 109 North Black Horse Pike, Blackwood, NJ 08012.

27. WTHS – Senior Class Trip (Class of 2019)

Approve the Senior Class trip to Walt Disney World and Universal Studios in Orlando, FL from April 10-April 15, 2019.

28. WTHS – Class of 2018 BBQ

Approve the Class of 2018 BBQ honoring all graduating seniors in good standing. The BBQ would include food, water, soda, cake, water ice, and games on the soccer field immediately following graduation practice.

29. WTHS – HOBY Leadership Seminar

Approve WTHS student Eva Thai to attend the HOBY Leadership Seminar from June 8th-10th at Kean University in Union, New Jersey. The cost of the seminar is $225.00, which includes the school registration fee plus all expenses for meals, lodging, and training material for the entire seminar weekend. The cost will be paid from Account 11-000-218-800-153-08.

Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6A:23A-16.10 (c) 4, the Winslow Township Board of Education certifies after review of the Secretary’s Monthly Financial Report (appropriations section) and upon consultation with the appropriate district officials, that to the best of the Boards’ knowledge, no major account or fund has been over-expended in violation of N.J.A.C. 6A:23A-16.10 (b) and that sufficient funds are available to meet the district’s financial obligations for the remainder of the fiscal year.

XX. EXECUTIVE SESSION

WHEREAS, the Open Public Meetings Act (N.J.S.A. 10:4-6 et seq.) requires all meetings of the Winslow Township Board of Education to be held in public, except as set forth in N.J.S.A. 10:4-12(b) which provides for nine (9) types of matters that may lawfully be discussed in “Executive Session,” i.e. without the public being permitted to attend; and

WHEREAS, the Winslow Township Board of Education has determined that certain issues set forth below are permitted by N.J.S.A. 10:4-12(b) to be discussed without the public in attendance shall be discussed during an Executive Session to be held on May 9, 2018 at __ p.m.; and WHEREAS, the nine (9) exceptions to public meetings set forth in N.J.S.A. 10:4-12(b) are listed below, and the items to be privately discussed that fall within such exceptions shall be identified and written, and after each exception is a space where additional information that will disclose as much information about the discussion as possible without undermining the purpose of the exception as follows:

“(1) Any matter which, by express provision of Federal law, State statute or rule of court shall be rendered confidential or excluded from public discussion.” The legal citation to the provision(s) at issue is:__________________________ and the nature of the matter, described as specifically as possible without undermining the need for confidentiality is

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board Secretary/Board Solicitor, shall read aloud enough of this resolution so that members of the public in attendance can understand, as precisely as possible, the nature of the matters that will privately discussed. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board Secretary, on the next business day following this meeting, shall furnish a copy of this resolution to any member of the public who requests one at the fees allowed by N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq.
