For our History Fair, we were assigned the topic of Leadership and Legacy. We

had a few options as to what our topic was going to be. There were many great leaders

who left behind a great legacy, so it was difficult. We narrowed our choices down

until we chose Winston Churchill, the greatest wartime leader of history. We knew

that it was the right topic for us, seeing as how he is thought to be one of the greatest

leaders in the history of the world. Another driving factor towards our decision wasthe fact that our teacher, Mrs. Gray, thought highly of Churchill. Even when not

teaching the subject, she liked to talk about Churchill and his accomplishments. Her

constant adoration for this leader really piqued our interest. We wondered how a

leader could be so interesting, so we set our minds to do our project on Churchill. He

was known to fight hard for his country in times of desperation and despair.

When researching, we conducted some at school when we were together and a

majority of it at home using Google Drive. It allowed us to communicate and do our

project without having to meet up in person. For our research, we sought out sources

with abundant information about Churchill. We actually found many websites that

were dedicated to him and his life. We found videos of many of his great and

inspiring speeches, and even some pictures of him with the signature V pose and

interactions with other famous world leaders. There is a lot of information

surrounding his life and the many significant events of World War II. We put our

links in a document and then narrowed it down to only the information we needed,

citing it afterwards and creating a bibliography.

After debating for a while, we selected the presentation category of a website.

We chose this due to previous experience of having done websites as past projects.

We also knew that a website would be easier to access and to organize. We created

our project by making an account on the NHD Weebly website. Then, we organized

them into tabs and put in all of our information with visual representations as well.

We consolidated the Legacy and Leadership research into two separate tabs. On those

tabs, we added all of our information and then accompanied it with visual aids and

    examples.

Our project relates to the NHD theme of Leadership and Legacy in the fact that

Winston Churchill was, and continues to set a precedent as a leader, being known as

one of the greatest wartime leaders ever. He fought to keep Germany from conquering

his country and made alliances with nations such as the United States. Also, he left

behind such a great legacy, as many people to this day still remember him for things

such as his achievements and his bulldog spirit. As proved by our teachers

adoration, even in the modern day do people still admire his actions.
