He became quite well known back in Britain when he won a medal for gallantry. He became involved in politics and on July 26th, 1897, began making speeches on behalf of the Conservative Party.

• Winston Churchill represented his economic views on free trade. In this post, he did a great deal to ensure that the navy was in a state to fight a war. This post was very important because he made sure the royal navy were ready to fight because if they weren't then they would surely lose.
