Winter sports enthusiasts are wel-comed by 120 km of groomed ski slopes, Switzerland’s longest illu-minated night slope (4.2 km), a snow park with a half-pipe, a bag jump and various runs with that ‘big mountain feeling’.

A mountain for sports and viewsThe all-round snow sports area is situated in a unique panorama. On one side, one can admire the im-pressive Bernina mountain massif

with the Piz Bernina and the Piz Roseg towering in the background; on the other, the visitor can see alpine peaks and the idyllic lake scenery of the Engadin.

Ten mountain restaurantsRelax in one of the ten mountain restaurants while skiing and snow-boarding. The Corvatsch has it all, whether you are looking for a gour-met feeling or chalet charm.

The Corvatsch mountain top station lies high above the Engadin. At an altitude of 3,303 m above sea level, it is the highest mountain top station of the Eastern Alps. There are no better conditions for snow adventures.

SNOW FUN AT UP TO 3,303 METERS

Enjoy the snow fun with over 1,500 meters of altitude differences, 120 km of slopes and a lot of powdery trails. The Corvatsch is the mountain for snow sport lovers in search of the best slopes, the best snow and the longest trails.

The snow sports area of the Cor-vatsch extends from Sils to Silva- plana and on to St. Moritz. Snow athletes can enjoy 120 km of slo-pes set in the fantastic Engadin winter scenery with plenty of free ride areas in between.

The star of the ski mountainsThe altitude and the northern expo-sure provide phenomenal slope conditions from mid-November to the beginning of May: they are the reason why the Corvatsch has been

the ‘star of the ski mountains’ for 50 years.

For athletes and familiesThe 15 transportation facilities of both mountains bring an important diversity to the area. The Corvatsch and its station magically attract slope carvers and deep powder snow lovers. The smooth Furtschel-las, however, is a well-kept secret for families and people seeking tranquility and enjoyment.

SLOPES AND FREERIDE SKI AND SNOWBOARD

Early birds can carve down from the Corvatsch peak towards the Fuorcla Surlej accompanied by the day’s first sunbeams.

Late risers can enjoy the day’s last sunbeams and the view over the Upper Engadin lake scenery at the Giand’Alva.

Bad weather skiers can opt for good visibility conditions and the great slopes of the Furtschellas descent.

Fast skiers can measure their speed on the free speed-skiing course at the Osteria Rabgiusa in Furtschellas.

DREAM SLOPE: HAHNENSEE THE SNOW SAFARI EXPERIENCE

The safari begins in Sils. Starting in Furtschellas, the route heads towards the top of the Corvatsch at 3,303 m above sea level.

From Sils to St. Moritz …From the top of the Engadin, the descent goes through Hahnensee and leads to St. Moritz Bad. On the other side of the valley, the snow

safari continues, going from Cor-viglia to Marguns and down to Celerina.

… from St. Moritz to PontresinaAfter a bus ride the Lagalb slopes will captivate you. At the end you will be rewarded with a 10 km long glacier run from Diavolezza to the Morteratsch.

The Hahnensee slope has wide-open, steep slopes at the begin-ning and a snowy fairytale forest at the end. A dream for true snow athletes!

High above the seasThe 9-km long descent is the final highlight after an exciting day on

the Corvatsch – and also very po-pular because of the view of the Engadin lakes.

A restaurant for halfway downSkiers and snowboarders can re-store their strength in the Restau-rant Hahnensee awaiting them halfway down the trail.

‘Experience’ the Upper Engadin in the truest sense of the word. Snow athletes can do just that on the snow safari – a tour of the Upper Engadin ski areas.

The difficult black run leading from the Giand’Alva to Hahnensee and further on to St. Moritz Bad is one of the Engadin’s dream slopes.

HAHNENSEE SLOPE SNOW SAFARI

Slope opening From mid-December to mid-April, depending on snow conditions and avalanche hazards.

The snow safari in figures At least 99 km of slopes, 6,666 m of altitude differences and 22 possible rest stops.

TAKE OFF AND HAVE FUN

Half-pipe und bag jump, kinked rail and kicker line ... The ones who get a tingly feeling in their bellies when they hear these words are in the right place at the Corvatsch.

Whether it’s a 7 m high half-pipe, a pro kicker, many different jib obsta-cles, a mini park, an air-filled bag jump or a wall ride, the Corvatsch strives to cover all different types of the freestyle fun.

A park for everyoneAnyone who thinks skiing and snow-boarding on neatly groomed slopes is boring can let off steam in the Corvatsch’s snow park. Whether you are a pro, a local hero or a fun

boarder, using a board or two skis, the main goal is to have fun.

At the Mandra ski lift The park lies beside the Mandra ski lift right next to the Murtèl middle station. The kicker and rail park con-sist of three lines (beginner, inter-mediate and pro). In addition, there is a half-pipe (7 m high, 140 m long), a bag jump for a smooth landing and a chill-out area.

ENJOY NATURE’S TRANQUILITY

A snowshoe hike on a marked trail above the Engadin lake scenery is something you can only experience on the Corvatsch.

The snowshoe hiking path starts at the Furtschellas middle station (2,312 m high). At first it goes through the ski area, but soon branches off into the peace and solitude of the Engadin’s alpine landscape. This trail is ideal for those in search of tranquility and pristine nature.

Well-markedThe path is marked with purple poles and is plowed with a trail groomer. The hike is suitable for

beginners and all those who want to have a safe and relaxed snow-shoeing experience.

Panoramic viewThe view of the Engadin lake scenery that goes from Maloja to St. Moritz is worth the hike. The path ends at the Osteria Rabgiusa (2,440 m high), where one can enjoy piadine, pizzas and other specialties. The new sun terrace is the ideal place to look back on the experience.

50 YEARS CORVATSCH 50 YEARS CORVATSCH

50 YEARS CORVATSCH MOUNTAIN RAILWAYS

After section two of the Corvatsch mountain railways became opera-tional on the 8 December 1963, the skiing and hiking mountain was made entirely accessible.

Since the Corvatsch was made en-tirely accessible 50 years ago, the number 3,303 stands for the high-est point of the Eastern Alps ac- cessible by cable car. Since then, more than 55 million visitors have been transported up the pan-oramic ski mountain.

A mountain for athletesThe Corvatsch has been an ath-lete’s mountain since the beginning and has remained true to that spir-it. The only thing that has changed

is the equipment: skis and pants have gotten wider and our hair is now tucked into a helmet.

Summer skiingUntil the beginning of the 1980s things were very busy in terms of ski sports on the Corvatsch glacier. On the best days, three glacier ski lifts transported up to 340,000 ski guests every summer. Due to the glacier recession, the ski lifts had to be shut down in summer 1992.

Where cows are kept in summer, people dine in winter. The Kuhstall (literally the ‘cow barn’) at the Furtschellas descent is unique and also a little bit crazy – just like the restaurant’s host Freddie Zwimpfer. In the daytime he dishes up hearty meals and in the evening he serves gourmet dishes and plays party sounds. Don’t miss out on the Kuhstall experience!

After the end of the current season refunds shall no longer be possible.

Lost and forgotten tickets for travel: If you have forgotten your ticket or annual sub-scription pass, then please buy a new ticket at any one of the ESMP ticket offices. Any misuse of tickets for travel, in particular the use of personal sub-scriptions by persons other than those hold-ing the subscription, or the use of tickets for travel which have been manipulated in any way shall result in the immediate confisca-tion of the ticket, including data carrier, without compensation of any kind and the journey shall be considered as travel with-out a valid ticket. The use of services provid-ed by the mountain railway company (e.g. facilities, ski slopes) without a valid ticket for travel shall be reported to the police. The ticket-holder should keep their ticket in a safe place in order to minimise the possibil-ity of misuse. Should the ticket be used in an illegal manner the company is permitted to confiscate the ticket and render it void. The right to take legal action is hereby reserved.
