In this course we will discuss topics of current interest in Educational Psychology including access to education, gender equity, internationalization, and intercultural learning. Course DescriptionStudents enroll in Psychology 3695G for the 2019-2020 aca-demic year.

This course will cover selected topics of current interest in Educational Psychology. Both research and theory, and their implications for educational practice, will be discussed in this seminar-format course. The course will include an optional trip to Cape Town to work with The Girl Impact.

Excursion CostsThe following are estimated costs for 2020 excursion to Cape Town, South Africa:

South Africa Meals, Accommodation and Excursions: $2500 CDN Health Insurance - $150 CDN Flights (to and from Cape Town) - $1,800 CDN return (includes transfers through Toronto)

TOTAL expected COST = $4,450

All students participating must also provide a valid police check for working with vulnerable populations. All costs are esimates and may be subject to change.

Note, this course has limited enrollment. Students will be placed on a waiting list in the event of over-enrollment.

THE GIRL IMPACT The course in run in conjuction with staff and progrmaming from “The Girl Impact”. The Girl Impact is a collaborative project between world leading volunteer organization, African Im-pact and African Impact Foundation, a NGO based in nine locations across East and Southern Africa. Our goal is to support and educate young girls to

help them make better informed decisions as they move towards womanhood, provide educational workshops and encourage income generating activities.
