Silent NightIn 2018, the popular

Christmas carol "SilentNight" celebrated the200th anniversary of itsfirst performance. Thelyrics to "Silent Night"were written byAustrian RomanCatholic priest JosephMohr in 1816. Over theyears, the melody hasbeen credited to thelikes of legendary com-posers such as Mozartand Beethoven. However, a manuscripthandwritten by Mohrand discovered in 1995revealed that the

Austrian composerFranz Xaver Gruber

composed the music tothis beloved song.
