BIT.FALLJULIUS POPP Germany
CHANCELLOR PASSAGE
An ever-changing cascade of words drawn from a live newsfeed on The Times website falls down in a wall of water. Using sophisticated technology, a series of valves opens at exactly the right moment to let droplets of water fall to form letters. The words appear in mid-air, illuminated as they fall into the water below, only perceptible for a brief moment before dissolving forever.
Bit.fall is part of Canary Wharf's permanent art collection.

THE CUBEOTTOTTO Portugal
CUBITT STEPS
This exploded cube of light symbiotically bonds with the pedestrian bridge at the bottom of Cubitt Steps. During the day it is an intriguing black and white abstract skeleton, but from sunset the faces of this 3sqm cube reflect and frame the adjacent scenery - the water underneath, the city around, and the sky above.

PIXELSJONAS VORWERK Netherlands
ADAMS PLAZA
Pixels is an interactive installation designed as a playful set of blocks that creates dynamic environments controlled by the public rather than the artist. The installation is composed out of multiple LED-lit cubes, which can change the colour and intensity by rotation. Pixels provide an open playground where everyone can create their own space, colour and atmosphere by using the blocks to build sculptures, images or animations. The pixel blocks are a tool that triggers both individual expression and collective exploration.

LEVEL -3, CROSSRAIL PLACE
A selection of colourful and sensory artworks by Amber Stefani made from acrylic and wood, creating shifting patterns of iridescent rainbow colours. The colour shifting depends on the viewer’s angle and the shimmering texture covers a wide rainbow spectrum with metallic, bronze and gold. It reflects some light waves and refracts others, similar to the effect on dragonfly wings or peacock feathers.

ESTUARY POEM FOR WYNDHAM LEWIS AND OTHER WORKSROBERT MONTGOMERY UK
LOBBY, ONE CANADA SQUARE
Robert’s Estuary Poem brings the unique landscape and atmosphere of the Thames Estuary into the heart of Canary Wharf, reminding us of its historic connections to the coast. The ceremonial burning of the poem on Shellness Beach at dusk celebrates the landscape. Back in the studio the burnt fragments are carefully reconstructed and the rebuilt sculpture is then illuminated with neon and LED creating a halo around the relic of the simple poem. Showing alongside is the atmospheric film of the burning of the poem on the beach.

VAPOURFENELLA OSBORNE UK
WINDOW GALLERY, JUBILEE WALK
Fenella’s glass and light installations defy simple explanation. Light is defracted by the nature of glass. The use of translucent optical film further alters the reflection and refraction of light within glass and upon both its surface and the surface of the surrounding structures. Light and illusion through Fenella's work is translated into a meditative experience of contemplation, dream, memory and imagination.

COUP DE FOUDRE IIBILL CULBERT New Zealand
CHURCHILL PLACE
One of Canary Wharf’s permanent art pieces, this neon light sculpture Coup de Foudre II, consists of lines of coloured light that flow effortlessly inside and outside the building creating the illusion of one continuous piece. Bill Culbert is one of the world’s leading light artists and has been working in this medium for over 40 years, with works in public collections worldwide.

MADE BY MANOSMANOS KALAMENIOS Greece
WINDOW GALLERY, CANADA WALK
For this year’s Window Gallery installation, Manos uses as reference medieval tiles found on the banks of the River Thames. The tiles have hidden coloured layers, due to carbon and reducing atmosphere during firing. Created with a contemporary twist by adding vibrant colours similar to those found under a microscope.
Don’t miss Manos' other pieces being exhibited in Crossrail Place Level -3. Installation 21.

ABSTRACTCOLLECTIF COIN France
MONTGOMERY SQUARE
Collectif Coin's new installation is inspired by the concept of time and relativity. Abstract is a pixel matrix in which every pixel can move over its vertical axis between the ground and a height of five metres. Movement, sound and light all interweave to create a stunning performance piece repeating on a loop. Time can be perceived as a vertical dimension in which the pixels travel. This movement represents the freezing of time while the audience keep their feet firmly on the ground.

SUNLIGHT GRAFFITILITTLE SUN Germany
JUBILEE PLACE
The interactive installation invites you to create your own, unique Sunlight Graffiti. Dance, jump, flip, write, draw with a Little Sun solar lamp and we’ll capture the ‘graffiti’ you make using long exposure photography. When you create Sunlight Graffiti, you are harnessing the awesome power of the sun to create your own unique piece of art. And by holding solar energy in your hands,
your moment of connecting with the most powerful force in our solar system, the sun, is captured forever.
The Sunlight Graffiti is part of Olafur Eliasson’s larger Little Sun project, created to put the power of the sun in the palm of your hand – creating safe, convenient, sustainable light and energy that you can take with you wherever you go. The global project was launched to bring clean, reliable and affordable light to the 1.1 billion people living without electricity.

INTRUDEAMANDA PARER Australia
JUBILEE PARK
Some huge inflatable white rabbits, illuminated in stark white light, have been invading festivals around the world. The seven metre high bunnies appear to be quite at home in their new patch in Canary Wharf!
Rabbits in artist Amanda Parer’s native Australia are an out of control pest, leaving a trail of ecological destruction wherever they go but they are also the innocent, furry fairytale animals from our childhood. Intrude deliberately evokes this cutesy image and with its strong visual humour suggests the more serious environmental messages at play.
