Picture This!In this innovative series, discover art on view, listen to storybook readings, and enjoy live music—all rolled into one program.

Sundays, Jan 27, Feb 10, Mar 17, Apr 28 10 am – 12:30 pm Ages 4 – 7

Each Picture This! begins with a 10 am gallery program that includes interactive activities, viewing works of art, and a book reading. Afterwards, head to the studio to create original artworks and enjoy a snack. The program wraps up with an 11:30 am concert featuring an acclaimed performer. Create an imaginary world using colorful papers, textures, and magazine pictures inspired by the work of Martha Rosler. Design a diorama with an unexpected mix of characters and combine images in unlikely and playful ways.

See striking works of art on view from the Museum’s collection, and express yourself through color and painting. Create your own original art with a Passover holiday or a springtime theme.

Explore art on view and create a work of your own in these programs for families with children who have developmental and learning disabilities. Workshops include gallery activities and an art project.

Dream Tree Collages

Monday, January 21 1 – 4 pm Ages 4 & up

In celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and the holiday of Tu B’Shevat (the birthday of the trees), create a visual poem collaging words from King’s speeches with images from nature to form an inspired tree design.

Workshops for Kids with Disabilities are made possible by the J.E. and Z.B. Butler Foundationand the Robert & Toni Bader Charitable Foundation, as well as public funds from theNew York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with City Council andthe New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M.Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.

Freedom Art Jam Art & Dance Party for Passover

Join us for our Passover extravaganza featuring art, music, and dancing! Set yourself free to the soulful sounds of ShirLaLa, craft a holiday work of art, create a freedom shaker, add to a Passover-themed installation, explore the galleries, and more!

Family Days Highlighting an exhibition or holiday, each Family Day features a large-scale art workshop, gallery tours, and a performance by an acclaimed children’s performer.

Discover a passion for ancient artifacts in the Museum’s simulated archaeological dig, open on the second Sunday of each month.

Magnify, sketch, piece together fragments, and more in our popular interactive children’s exhibition focused on archaeology.

Experience the Museum’s exhibitions as a family with these engaging guides, available at the Admission desk in the Lobby and on Floor 4.

Scheuer Auditorium features an Infrared Assistive Listening System for use during all performance programs. Both headsets and neck loops are available. Neck loops are also available for use with audio guide tours of exhibitions. Facilities are all wheelchair accessible. Upon request, a discount is offered to visitors with disabilities.
