Hello Fellow Autocrossers! First, let me apologize to anyone who has tried to email me at my Fujitsu email address since mid May. I was on vacation for two weeks and when I came back I discovered that I and about a hundred others had been laid off on May 1. As a result I was not able to see any email from mid May on. If you need to contact me, my cell phone is still the same (972-523-7577) and my new email address is:

On that note, if anyone knows of a Test Engineer job opening in any field or just about anything in Tele-com, let me know. I have experience in install, test, turn-up, troubleshooting, 2nd/3rd level tech support, developmental testing and a bunch of other stuff.

Our next event is coming up fast, on July 21 at Pennington Field in Bedford.

Our last event was a social event at Amazing Jakes on May 12 and we all had a blast playing miniature golf, rock wall climbing, racing karts and bumper cars, laser tag, video games and eating buffet.

Thanks to all who attended the Evolution Schools on May 15, 16, 17. This year we only had three schools, but everyone had a great time and the new Phase 3 went well. Andy Hollis designed a chal-lenging course that really made you think. We used the latest MaxQData equipment and software to look at split times and discovered some interesting things about which line to take and why.

As I mentioned in the last newsletter, all four tire companies are back on board for the tire give-away programs again this year! That’s right, Falken, Kumho, Hoosier and Yokohama are all participating again. In addition, I found out that representatives from several of these companies as well as from Dis-count Tire (Todd Eaddy, 972-377-8242) will be at several ER and SCCA events this year. IT IS EX-TREMLY IMPORTANT THAT EVERYONE DISPLAY THEIR TIRE BRAND DECALS AND

DISCOUNT TIRE DECALS AT EVERY EVENT SO WE CAN DEMONSTRATE TO THESE FOLKS THAT THEIR PROGRAM WORKS SO WE CAN CONTINUE TO DO IT EACH YEAR.

Todd was at the last SCCA event and he was VERY impressed with the number of Discount Tire and Tire Brand decals! Keep up the good work at every event since we never know when he or the tire reps will show up. We should also now have plenty of Discount Tire, Hoosier, Kumho, Falken and Yokohama decals available in tech at SCCA and ER events. See me in tech at SCCA events and see anyone in tech at ER events.

For any of you who didn’t know, ER is incorporated as a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization. Among other things this means that ER must do charitable work to continue to be a non-profit. Some of the things we have done in the past are to contribute to the University of Texas FSAE (Formula Society of Automotive Engineer) program and to various charities like women’s shelters, food banks and bikes for kids. We were made aware of this last charity several years ago by Dennis Rothermich, and we have contributed for many years allowing several bikes to be purchased each year for kids who otherwise would never get a bike. This year Dennis even managed to arrange things so that our contribution was matched which resulted on twice the bikes purchased for our donation! Thanks Dennis!

It’s that time of year again when ER elects or re-elects Board of Director members. This year the nominations are: Andy Cost, Danny Mehl, David Whitener, Dennis Rothermich, Gabby Garner and Sean Goodpasture. If you would like to nominate yourself or another club mem-ber, let a current board member or officer know ASAP and/or come to our next board meeting on July 21 at Marshall’s BBQ in Carrollton, where we will have elections.
