Monday Girls’ Varsity Basketball Team4th-8th Grade (Parsons Hall)

Join the team to work on shooting mechanics, defensive stance and footwork, dribbling and passing skills, rebounding, and more! Focus on skill development and working together as a team. Scrimmages with other teams will be scheduled. The girls will practice even if there are not enough for a team.

Fiber Fun Workshop1st -3rd Grade (House)

NEW! Practical life skills are an important part of the Montessori curriculum and continue to evolve through elementary. Practice basic embroidery stitches, learn how to repair fabric, use dye – and explore methods of self -expression with these techniques. Did you enjoy the camp last summer? Then you will love this eight-week session. Snack and all materials provided.

No experience necessary! Use the 23-foot interior rock wall at the Tuckahoe YMCA. Students are fitted with a harness and helmet, and are instructed on how to safely climb. YMCA waiver required (on RMS website)

Session I: Wheels in Motion! Use axles, pulleys, gears and motors to build a variety of models that move with LEGO bricks. Familiar vehicles as well as rescue robot and K-9 Bot to challenge the young engineer.

Session II: Interesting Inventions! Learn the origins of things like the hand mixer, windshield wipers and conveyer belts. What is the difference between an invention and a discovery? Each week, students are encouraged to think of what they can invent with LEGO bricks, or improvements they can make to an existing object to solve a problem. Each model is motorized for maximum movement and fascination!
