“Baby Dedication”30-Day Challenge, Acts 2:42-47, Heb 10:24-25, Rom12:1
Cross Creek Community Church, Pastor Dave Martin – April 19, 2015
I. Jesus Instructs on little Children
Mark 10:13-16 13 People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples
rebuked them. 14 When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God
belongs to such as these. 15 I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little
child will never enter it." 16 And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.
II. The Immeasurable Value of a Child
Psalms 139:13-16 13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. 14 I praise
you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, 16 your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in
your book before one of them came to be.
III. Parental Involvement is Vital
Proverbs 22:6 Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not
turn from it.
Dedication Service
Deuteronomy 6:4-7 "Hear O Israel: The Lord our God is one. Love the Lord your God with all
your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on their children. Talk about
them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when
you get up."

Today: Experience worship as part of your daily lifestyle
Acts 2:42-47 42 They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45
Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Revelation 7:9-12 9 After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could
count… 11 All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living
creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying: "Amen! Praise
and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever.
Amen!"
2. God’s will is for us to gather weekly
Hebrews 10:24-25 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and
good deeds. 25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing,
but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
3. Worship is something you do
Romans 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this
is your spiritual act of worship.
