802.11
802.11 is a set of standards for a wireless lo-
cal area network. Computer communication
can be 2.4, 3.6 and 5GHz frequency. They
were created by the IEEE LAN/MAN Stand-
ards Committee and are still maintaining it
Infrared
Infrared is a technology that allows compu-
ting devise to communicate though short a
short range of wireless signals. With infrared,
you can transfer files or other digital data to
another device. Infrared are in many laptops
and handheld personal devices. In Microsoft
Windows, infrared connections can be creat-
ed through the same method as other local
area network connections
Bluetooth
Bluetooth is an open wireless technology
standard for exchanging data over a short dis-
tance. For example, if you wanted to send
your friend a picture, you can send it via Blue-
tooth on your phone. The wavelength radio
transmissions in the ISM band from 2400-
2480 MHz from fixed and mobile devices.
3G
3G means 3rd generation mobile telecommu-
nications. It is a generation of standards for
mobile phones. 3G application services in-
clude wide-area wireless voice telephone,
mobile Internet access, video calls and mobile
TV. 3g is one of the most used connection
types for Mobile phones; basically every
phone has 3G.
