Wisdom Talks

Welcome to Wisdom Talks: Discussing God's Wisdom for

Everyday Life

We might think that wisdom is something that only adults

need. But, that's not true! Wisdom, or knowing what is right

and what is wrong and how to behave because of that, is

important for every one at every age.

Wisdom can help you as you make decisions right now

decisions such as who you will choose to be your friends, how

you should use your time, how you will respond to your

teachers, or who you should trust.

God's Word (the Bible) is full of wisdom that will help youin your everyday life.

As you study God's Word each day, you will need to have a

Bible ready and a pen or a pencil. But, don't worry, there won't

be too much writing to do.

This week, we will be exploring what wisdom is, why it is

important for us, and how we can get it. But, first of all, I want

to know what you think of when you think of wisdom. What do

you think that wisdom is?

What is the beginning of wisdom?

What is the beginning of wisdom?

What do people who have good understanding (wisdom) do?

Here's what you need to remember:

When we fear God (or respect Him), we listen to His words

and obey them.

As we obey God, we begin to understand God more and we

grow in wisdom.

Read Proverbs 9:10

Read Psalm 111:10

"What do I need to have before I canget wisdom?"

Lesson Two, Level Three"Why is Wisdom Important for Me?"You may be wondering, "What's the "big deal" about wisdom? Why is wisdom so important? Is it really important for MY

life?"

The Bible talks a lot about the blessings that God's wisdom will bring to the people who seek it. Read each of the verses below, then write the blessings of wisdom in the lines beside

the reference.

Proverbs 3:12: ___________________________________________________________Proverbs 3:34 ________________________

Proverbs 3:78 ____________________________________________________________Proverbs 3:910 ___________________________________________________________Do any of these benefits of wisdom sound interesting to you?

Remember, the book of Proverbs does not promise these benefits to every wise person, but gives generalizations. For example, usually a person will be wealthier when they are

wise with their money than they would have been if they were foolish with their money.

We need to have certain heart attitudes before we can begin to

get wisdom.

Read each passage below, than write what kind of a heart that

we need to have in order to grow in wisdom:

Proverbs 1:7

Wisdom TalksWisdom TalksLesson Four, Level Three Lesson Four, Level Three

"Where Can I Get Wisdom?" "Where Can I Get Wisdom?"Wisdom is not hard to find! We just need to know where to look

for it.

 The law of the Lord is perfect,restoring the soul;

The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.

The precepts of the Lord are right,rejoicing the heart;

The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.

The fear of the Lord is clean,enduring forever;

The judgments of the Lord are true; theyare righteous altogether.

They are more desirable than gold, yes,

than much fine gold;

Sweeter also than honey and the

drippings of the honeycomb.

According to this Psalm, it is the testimony of the Lord that

makes people wise. Testimony, law, precepts,

commandment, judgments, rules  these are all other ways of

saying that the words of God, which can be found in theBible, are what will make us wise.

On the next page, see how many of the bold words from the

Psalm above you can find in the word search.

Wisdom TalksLesson Five, Level Three

"Where Can I Get Wisdom?"From yesterday's lesson, where is the first place that we should

look for wisdom? Fill in the letters in the word below:

B _ _ _ _We can also learn wisdom from other people. However, we must

make sure that these people are helping us to follow the Bible's

wisdom. Remember, if someone tells you to do something against

the Bible, it is not wise!

Read the verses below, then fill in the letters to discover some

people that can teach us wisdom.

Wisdom TalksLesson Six, Level ThreeA Man Who Prayed

If God promised you that you would be granted one prayer

request, what would you ask for?

In today's Bible reading, you will read about a man who was

given this opportunity.

Read 2 Chronicles 1:713Caleb rewrote the story of Solomon below, but he made some

mistakes. Can you fix his mistakes by crossing out the words in bold

and writing the correct words on the lines? Don't forget to use your

Bible!

One night, God appeared to David ___________ andsaid to him, "Ask what I shall give you."  Solomonsaid, "God, you have dealt very kindly with my

brother _____________, David, and have made meking in his place. Give me now riches ___________and wealth _____________ that I may rule this great

people."

God said to Solomon, "Because youhave asked for wisdom and not riches,or wealth, or honor, or revenge on yourenemies, I have granted your request. Iwill also give you riches and wealth andmany horses _____________ such asnone of the kings before or after you

will ever have."
