Vacation Bible School !
Vacation Bible School is July 19-23. Many have already volunteered their
time but there are still some “key” helpers needed.
All Volunteers: please let Cindy know your shirt size as soon as possible.
She also needs the shirt sizes for all of the kids and their age/grade that
they will be going into.
Robert England will lead all interested adults in VBS during the week. We hope you will plan to come
even if you don’t have kids participating in VBS.
New this year: Phil and Pat Mullins will lead our 7th and 8th graders in a Junior VBS. They will meet in
the youth building each night. Spread the word and invite your friends and neighbors to join you.
We are looking forward to an exciting and blessed week. Mark your calendars and invite your friends
and neighbors!
If you are interested or have questions please contact Cindy Elkins (679-1060 or 275-9675) Email:
From the Pastor Search Committee
The WBC Pastor Search Committee had its first meeting on June 9,
2010. A training session was led by Pastor Bill Tatum. Elizabeth Wills
and Bill Sutherland were elected to co-chair the Committee, and Karen
Ponish was elected as secretary. The Committee has begun soliciting
applications for pastoral candidates and has set a deadline of August 1,
2010, for receipt of applications.
Should any church member know of any individual who would like to be
considered, please have that individual forward a resume to Pastor
Search Committee, Wise Baptist Church, P. O. Box 777, Wise, Virginia
24293. A Transition Team Report, including a pastoral profile that was
developed in conjunction with the Church membership, can be found on
the WBC website. The pastoral profile lists the characteristics that the
church membership prefers in the next full-time pastor. Please be in
constant prayer for the committee members as they perform this
important task for our church.
