The New Year Eve party at the Waltair Club was one of the most rocking eventsof the year and has become the "Talk of the Town". With a theme as innovativeand fresh as "BLING" it was expected from the start that the show will besomething more than imagined and it proved to be just that. The guests weretaken aback at the excellent styling of the venue with black and white blingartifacts all over adding to the glitz and glamour. Right from the main entry gate withreal crystal balls hanging to the table décor and linen , everything was perfectlyplanned by the Entertainment Com-mittee and event managersRazzmatazz. The stage was a de-sign out of the "Award nite Shows'and the accessories and stylish frillsaccentuated the presentation to thefullest.

The Artist line up was perfect andthe entertainment menu showcasedthe best of the Bling new genera-tion talents. The Emcee Vik fromMumbai thrilled from the word goand his high energy and good witkept the show at a high decibel.Bhargavi Pillai- celebrity playbacksigner from AR Rehman's team and Bollywood playback singer Rahul Pandey tookthe party to a very high level as the carefully matched their voices in a jugalbandi ofpopular filmy medleys in English, Hindi, Telugu and Punjabi and got the entire crowdto the dance floor by 10.00 p.m. Interactive sessions interspersed with great singingand better choice of songs catering to the old and new audiences made the singersa smashing success. RJ Satya of Big FM presented the telugu narrative in a classystyle.

The eye candy, however, came from the "Best Busters"…the internationaldance team from Kolkata lead by famous choreography Soujit Das. The dancefillers included a salsa-acro fusion, Bling Bollywood number, Telugu popularmedley and International Jiving styles. The group also backed the singers withapt props and panache. The Highlight of the entire show was the entry of DJ

Ajay Joseph whose fan following in the young crowd pumped up the party.Closer to midnight all stations were set and everyone synchronized theirwatches to be on one page at the zero hour. The countdown was done byactive member and anchor Dr. Meenakshi Anantram (A 82) and the madnessat midnight was captured by all lights going off while a mesmerizing cold pyroshow took the audience by surprise. For the first time in the club, our memberRahul Ganapati designed synchronized pyros and confetti set to music and

mood became the hero of theevent.

The traditional cake cutting by ourPresident and his Managing Teamwas a ceremony well relished as itdidn't bring down the decibel lev-els and the cake, which was mixedat the Ladies X Mas event found apride of place at centre stage. Bakedto perfection by Radisa, the cakewas delicious and nutty. Cateringarrangements by the catering com-mittee and professional team fromMadura, Hyderabad was very wellappreciated and the set up and

taste of the food was par excellent. The highlight of the event was however, theIsland Bar dedicated to all the lovers of the good times and was speciallydesigned and placed strategically at the back of the grounds. Maximum crowdswere seen clinking their glasses here and liquor flowed as friends celebratedthe moments and happy times. Kudos to the Bar Committee for their excellentplanning. Bar tenders were brought down from Kolkata along with their teamsto cater to the crowds and the party went on till the wee hours of the morningat this area, despite the stage show culminating at 1.00 p.m as permitted.

What a wonderful way to ring in a glorious year!!!! The President and his Commit-tee , especially Nikhil Oza -Chairman, Entertainment Committee should be laudedfor creating "One of finest and most memorable events in the club to-date".
