InspirationThe Summer Day by Mary Oliver Who made the world?Who made the swan, and the black bear?Who made the grasshopper? This grasshopper, I mean-the one who has flung herself out of the grass, the one who is eating sugar out of my hand, who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down-who is gazing around with her enormous and complicated eyes. Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face. Now she snaps her wings open, and floats away.I don't know exactly what a prayer is.I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass, how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields, which is what I have been doing all day. Tell me, what else should I have done?Doesn't everything die at last, and too soon?Tell me, what is it you plan to dowith your one wild and precious life?

Intro to the Financial Integrity (FI) ProgramThe FI Program is a system for creating a relationship with money, that is clear, empowered and non-stressful, such that money plays a purposeful role in helping you create the life you want to live.
The FI Program helps people discover how much is “enough” for them, through maximizing their Fulfillment and Integrity in relation to money.
Intro to the FI ProgramFI =
• Financial Intelligence
• Financial Integrity, and,
• Financial Independence (sometimes referred to as FI1, FI2, and FI3)
It started as a purely personal project for Joe Dominguez in the early 1960s, and grew into an international best-selling book Your Money or Your Life.
Waving the Magic Wand of Time
•The Day is suddenly 20 hours — what do you take out?
•The Day is suddenly 28 hours — what do you add?
Money is a loaded topic
• Arguments around money are the most common reason for divorces
•Many people feel more comfortable talking about sex than money
• There are 2 conditions that guarantee that we are less-than-clear in relation to money
What is money?Is it:
• Security?
• Power?
• Freedom?
• A tool for political repression?
• A means for pillaging the Earth?
• Pieces of paper and metal, or digital computer blips across a screen?
Is there a definition that is both true 100% of the time, regardless of cultural context, and very personally
meaningful, as opposed to mostly theoretical?
What is money?
Money is the hours of life energy I exchanged for it.

MidwayMessage from the Gyre These photographs of albatross chicks were made in September, 2009, on Midway Atoll, a tiny stretch of sand and coral near the middle of the North Pacific. The nesting babies are fed bellies-full of plastic by their parents, who soar out over the vast polluted ocean collecting what looks to them like food to bring back to their young. On this diet of human trash, every year tens of thousands of albatross chicks die on Midway from starvation, toxicity, and choking.
To document this phenomenon as faithfully as possible, not a single piece of plastic in any of these photographs was moved, placed, manipulated, arranged, or altered in any way. These images depict the actual stomach contents of baby birds in one of the world's most remote marine sanctuaries, more than 2000 miles from the nearest continent.

Financial Independence
Having steady and secure income for the rest of your life, coming from a source other than what you do day-to-day, that is enough -- and then some -- for a consciously chosen lifestyle.
The Crossover Point
Re-printed from Chapter 8 in Your Money or Your Life, by Vicki Robin and Joe Dominguez
Conclusion•When you develop the money skills that the FI Program gives you, you create a relationship with money that is clear, empowered, purposeful, and non-stressful.
•By investing consciousness into your personal relationship with money, and by choosing to maximize your fulfillment and integrity, you can discover what is enough.
•If you are living within your means — spending less than you earn — that money begins to add up, which has multiple benefits including recession-proofing your life, being prepared for emergencies, and the potential of creating more thriving, more resiliency, and increasingly freeing up your time from a work/spend cycle.
