Lucy Winslow’s beginnings were as humble asshe was. With six boys already in the Winslowclan she was the only girl and a dream come truefor her father who affectionately nicknamed herhis ‘#7’. Lucy was one of those tough but lovingfolks—beautiful to the core—and fiercely loyal toher family and town.

During her lifetime, Lucy went from southernWisconsin farm girl to war hero to starlet andthen entrepreneur in a tale wrought withadventure, romance and chance encounters.

Part of her life story was becoming one of themost popular pin-up girls of her era. In fact, youcan see her 1949 advertisement on the wall herein the restaurant. The flag she’s wearing in thatpin-up shot commemorates her heroic service inthe USO and as a nurse in WWII. Take a look. It’sframed over there on the east wall.
