It started with a brain wave:The I. C. engine. In 1864, when progress started to get golng. When the first engine factory in the world was built, founded by Nikolaus August Otto and Eugen Langen. In a Joint effort they developed Otto's idea for power to the production stage: the atmospheric gas engine. This started the world's first series production of engines. A DEUTZ air-cooied four-cylinderfour-stroke diesel engine using direkt injection. Powerful and reliable. A secure investment for economical working.

The D 7206 uses air coolìng. This direct cooling with air renders thermostat, water cooler, water pump, gaskets, hoses, pipes and anti-freeze unneces-sary. Air-cooIed DEUTZ diesels are cooled by a heavy-duty fan. A cooling duct system, proved a miliion times over, ensures equal cooling for ali cylinders. Since the D 7206 reaches its normal operating temperature very quickly, it can be run under Ioad right away. Thisalso means reducing the wear caused by cold corrosion. When using air cooling, the operating temperature isnot limited by the boiling point of the coolant. To the contrary, it makes ìt possibleto run the engine at a higher, more favourable operating temperature. This improves combustion and reduces fuel consumption. There is no need for cooling air adjustment during tractor operation, neither in extremely low nor inextremeiyhighambienttemperatures. The advanced DEUTZ engine techno-logy ensures a particularly smooth

running of the air-cooIed diesels. There is good starting with a DEUTZ D 7206. This Is ensured by a strong starter motor. a heavy-duty battery and a cold starting device. The 28 ampere 3-phase alternator already charges the battery at idiing speed.

Aprerequisitefora long-lived service of I. C. engines is a clean combustion air. Therefore, DEUTZ SICCOPUR air cleanerwìth cyclone precleaner are standard equipment on DEUTZ tractors This ensures an almost 100% clean-liness of the intake air.

DEUTZ has fitted the D 7206 with a 92-litertank. This isenough fuel fora hard day's work without the need for refuelling.

Comfort plus safety That's DEUTZ has done a tot for the safety of the tractor driver. This ìs evident by many international awards. The driver's platform looks really tidy and has plenty of legroom. Clearly arranged the instrument board with tractormeter àhd pilot tight strip. Ali levers and pedais are easy-to-reach and operate and the latter require little foot pressure.

The comfort seat can be adjusted to the driver's weight and height. The front axle bracket, englne, clutch housing and transmission are dìrectly flanged together. resulting In a sllm, frameless monobloc cons-truction. High ground clearance inspite of a low centre of gravity. A long wheelbase. A favourable weight dlstrlbution.

D 7206: Always the rlght power-to-weight ratio. The D 7206 has a high permissible total weight of 5000 kg. Even when fully ballasted, heavy implements can be used. The telescopio front axle, the optional adjustable bowl wheeis and the wide selection of tyres render this D 7206 fit for universal use.

The brakes of the D 72 06. They are safe and easy to maintain. Little foot pressure is required to obtain optimum braking action. Bach brake drum has two separate brake surfaces. The foot brake acts on the outer and the hand brake on the inner brake surface. Larga braking surfaces and wear resistant brake lining ensure efficient and precise braking when thegoing ìs rough.

Even the pnint — the new shining DEUTZ green — was introduced to add to the tractor's safety. To see and to be seen. That Is our point. The three-layer coat of paint of high quality protects the D 7206 against rust and corrosion, DEUTZ thinks of everything - we don't like to do things half-heartediy.

Single-lever operation

DEUTZ transfermatic system The DEUTZ TRANSFERMATIC SYSTEM hydraulic lift works extraordinarity well. Joitiess control and equa! working depth are ensured by a well-tuned collectìve action of a gently and quickly responding control unit, a simple and low-friction control linkage and a large draft pick-up range. Slngle-lever control, After preselecting either draft control or position control, the work to be done is controlled by only one lever. And also the free-floating of Implements, the ralsìng and lowering.

Automatic height kick-out, both at top-most transport position and at standard heìght. In both cases the system changes automatically to unpressurized oli circulation as soon as the pre-selected height is reached. By turning a limit lever. the raising to standard height can be tocked mechanicatly and the lowering hydrauiically. The ìmple-ment is carried on this oli cushion in the service cylinder (shock absorber effect) and thus the Iractor and the Implement are spared. The system ralses higher than prescribed by DIN-Standards. No overioading of the engine-driven pump.

Automatic lowering control valve. It prevents too fast lowering of heavy implements. Automatic side stabili-sation. When the implement is ralsed to the top, it is stabilized in centre position. This is particularly important when pioughing. When raising the plough to make a head land turn, the plough Is arrested automatically in centre position and cannot swing to the side. Large length adjustment of both liftrods. Side tilt compensation for Wide implements.

8 forward speeds, 4 reverse! (standard) 12 forward speeds and synchro­mesh versìon a! extra costs. The two low gears of this transmission are of the easy-to-shift constant-mesh dog gear system and the two high gears of the servo-lock synchromesh system (System Porsche). Therefore, due to having three forward ranges.h!gh/low and creep range you have 6 forward speeds in the easy-to-shifl constant-mesh dog gear system and another 6 in the synchromesh system available.

Another range provides 4 well stepped up reverse speeds. On Ihe all-wheei driven model D 7206 A the synchromesh trans­mission is replaced by an easy-to-shift constant-mesh pin-type system. The D 7206 has alone 9 speeds In the Important speed range between 2 and 11.5 km/h. You have always the right speed for every job. The speeds do not overlap. A clear shìft pattern facilitates gear shifting. Fast shlfting - smooth shifting: Offered by DEUT2.

Independent two-speed PTO shaft Is standard on the D 7206. You can choose behween 540 and lOOOrev/min. Itcan beengagedand disengaged on-the-go and under Ioad, It is operated from the driver's seat. The DEUT2 PTO shaft is located in the centre of the tractor and keeps a steady dìstance from the ground. Rated PTO speed Is obtained at 90% of rated engìne speed which provides a high power reserve.

Difficult spots are mastered wHh ease. The D 72 06 all-wheei drive! Make full use of the tractor wcight via four driven wheels. More tractive eftort OR light soils, on gradients and on hillsides. The favourable
