Summer Term July 2016 Issue 1 Welcome to the first issue of Keep Connected - our newsletter for Connect Teaching School Alliance members to keep you up-to-date with training, staff development opportunities and Connect’s journey. Subject Networking Successful English and Science Cluster networking meetings have already taken place this term. It has been fantastic to see subject leader representation from a range of local school taking part, collaborating and taking their experience back to their own schools. As a CTSA Alliance Member, you are entitled to a free place at all of our English, Science, Maths and EYFS Cluster meetings. The next subject Cluster meeting is: English: 19th September 2016 To book simply e-mail [email protected] Train to Teach High quality trainee teachers are crucial for securing a successsful future in our schools . At Connect we are proud of our rigorous selection process. We are recruiting now for September 2017 and need your help to spread the word. Ways you can help: Ÿ Add a link to our website on your homepage. Ÿ Display our leaflets in your school. Ÿ Promote our Train to Teach Information Event taking place on the 1st of October at Staniland Academy 9.30 til 12.30. Ÿ Promote local teacher training opportunities to parents i.e. news letters, parent mail, text round. Ÿ Host our travelling banner outside your school for a week or two. For more information simply e-mail your interest and we will do the rest! Full events listings available at: www.connect-tsa.net/calendar/whats-on/ Our Alliance We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the Head Teachers and colleagues who attended our Connect Launch event. The morning was a great success and has provided us with some excellent feedback on the training and support needs of local schools - enabling us to tailor our future provision to meet local need. We now have over 20 schools signed up to our Alliance to work together for the coming Academic Year. Costs: Cluster meetings are free to Alliance members. All other courses are charged at a standard day rate of £100, with half days charged at £50. This Teacher Subject Specialism Training provides high quality professional development to those teaching mathematics in Key Stage 2.
