June 22 – Galleria dell’Academia / Galleria degli Uffizi Museo Nazionale del BargelloThe elegant city of Florence is nestled between a line of hills and the banksof the Arno River and serves as a showcase for Romanesque, Gothic andRenaissance grandeur. Among the wealth of masterpieces to be found inFlorence, you’ll see the Piazza della Signoria with its Neptune Fountain. You'llvisit the Galleria dell'Academia, home to Michelangelo's David. Continue to the Basilica di San Lorenzo, onceoutside the city walls and home church of the Medici family. The church islavished with an interior design from Michelangelo and other Renaissanceartists. Walk through the Santa Maria del Carmine Church, whose interiorsreflect various art periods from the 12th Century on, thanks to portions ofthe church being rebuilt after several fires. Walk the halls of the Museodell'Opera del Duomo, home to work intended for the Cathedral, includingthe Pietà created by Michelangelo intended for his own tomb. June 24 – Siena / Basilica of San Domenico Museum of Metropolitan Institution / Finish the day in RomeThis morning, you’ll travel to Siena and walk the Piazza del Campo, famousfor the Palio horse race.
