WITH THE GOETHE-ZERTIFIKAT A1: FIT IN DEUTSCH 1

The Goethe-Zertifikat A1: Fit in Deutsch 1 is a German exam for young adults, ages 10 to 16.

It confirms very basic knowledge of German and corres-ponds to the first level (A1) on the six-level scale of competence specified in the Common European Frame-work of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Exam certificates from the Goethe-Institut are widely recognized around the world. Many years of experience have shown that the Fit exams motivate young learners and increase their desire to continue learning.

By passing the exam, participants demonstrate that they

// can make themselves understood in simple terms if the conversation partner speaks slowly and distinctly.

// understand and can use familiar, everyday and frequently used expressions and simple sentences (for example, information about themselves and their families, shopping, work and their immediate surroun-dings).

// can make demands and respond to requests.

WRITTEN EXAM

// You will hear short conversations about everyday topics, personal telephone messages, news from the radio and the like and will do various exercises relating to these.

// For example, you will read short memos, brief ads, personal descriptions, simple letters to the editor or short newspaper articles and will do exercises relating to these.

// You will write a response to an e-mail, a letter, an ad or the like.

Length of exam: 60 minutes

ORAL EXAM

You will introduce yourself, ask questions about everyday topics and answer simple questions. In addition, you will make requests and respond to the conversation partner in familiar situations.

Length of exam: about 15 minutes
