Proton Man
to Jeff Scott Clifford
The Proton Man He does what he can
To save the world Make us understand
The spirit within
His very own essence Should be the spirit that all
Would hope to dispense
To labor till victory Creed of the Proton Man
To live history indeed Baring greatness, his brand
Because…
The Proton Man
He’ll do what he can Dare save you from evil
Or foe, fellow man

Be Still O Night: A Superhero’s Prayer
Be still O night May I sleep well
Who knows better What rest I need to fight
Never leave my side, never I’m afraid for tomorrow
The fear of waking Heaven knows
The reality of tomorrow O night fill my heart with strength
Fill this empty cup Be still O night
Let me enjoy this sleep Let me fly upon the sky
And take back The ages that elude me O night in all its glory
Help this unnatural soul Don’t let life end this story
A life so loud Needs a sleep that is so quiet
Be still O night Give me more time
To regain my strength That which helps me To hold on, to fight
Be still O night Let this not be the last
For we are given so much evil Supreme justice must not fail
Amen

Comic Book Love Affair
Thunder and lighting Paranoia across the sky
I shall pay dearly This nasty habit won’t die
‘Ama decia,
“It’s all wrong!” So, she burned them all
That which to me belonged
She use to say I was obsessed Mujer cristiana
thought I was possessed
Tears of anger For what I love Madre querida,
what were you thinking of?
Now I am grown I have learned to forgive
But I am also married Will history be relived?
I love her a lot…
But I love them too They call to me
O my mind is a zoo
This comic book affair Consumes most of me
O this faithful sin It won’t let me be
I hope she understands… I hope they all understand
Never, ever, come between A comic book and her man

Dark Red Rose My dark red rose Sweet and so infectious How can one deny Your deep dark affection? For three decades you’ve ruled The blood red stained streets Through it all you remain So beautiful you keep Enchanting crimson thing How can you be as such? My dark red rose I’ve loved you so much Your black wings take you to flight Who could ever understand? Victims of imagination For a vampire and a man
13
14
Drakulonion Kiss for Jill Nicolini O so many times I have selfishly wished The touch of the serene A sweet Drakulonion kiss But not just any kiss One profound and everlasting From the only one I want Vampirella, the enchanting My alien vampire goddess Ruler of my imagination Your presence is sublime Upon your feet fall many nations My world is your playground Only you know the reason I merely wish a kiss As my sanity commits treason
15
16
Elastic You’re so plastic You’re so darn elastic What can you not be? Who can you not see? This gift, this power Can’t be held by the highest tower Could evil ever understand The powers of the Plastic Man? I’ll Be Your Superman Ten million maniacs Attempting your front door I’ll be there to stop them Even if there are more I’ll be your hero To save you from all of them I am your father I’ll be your Superman
17
18
Little Lulu Little Lulu, Little Lulu Who can ever compare? Little Lulu, Little Lulu Who would even dare? Such a darling little girl Such a cute little smile Such a bright and witty mind You make laughter last a while Thank you, Little Lulu Thank you so very much Thank you, Little Lulu None will ever be as such

One Zero Zero Lady of darkness So deliciously supreme Mistress of the macabre My dear horror queen To you, my love Again I write Fear not my lady You’re still out of sight Celebrating one zero zero With no sign of age My beautiful female hero You get better page by page You saved my Saturday nights Back when I was a teen Your enchantment still strong today Better than I’ve ever seen

Superheroes Don’t Always Win
Flying high Buzzards in the air
Something foul Not smelling fair
Evil mongers On the way
Pay the price Very soon today
Superheroes
Watch your back Evil doers
On the attack
Not all the good guys Always win Mostly gains By evil’s kin
Sinister friend At your door
Knock out count You’re on the floor
No cape, no sun No suit of steel Nothing helps
The pain is real
Our hero finally Gets the upper hand
The hero wins Safe is the land
No fairy tale
No cheering crowd Just healing wounds And feeling proud
