Nobbys FactsNobbys Head was first
sighted by Europeans on 10 May 1770 by Captain James Cook on the ship the Endeavour and was described by Cook as: "A small round rock or Island, laying close under the land, bore South 82 degrees West, distance 3 or 4 Leagues".
Nobbys was originally called Coal Island
Today
1887
City HallCity Hall was
discovered in 1797. It is opposite to civic
park and is next to Civic Theatre.
It has 7 function & 7 conference rooms.
Art GalleryIt was open by the
Queen on the 18th March 1977.
The Art Gallery is a great place to go to chillax and look at good art
Court HouseThe court house was
designed in 1890 and opened in 1892.
There is a coat of arms on top of the gate which is a two story house.
Walter Vernon built the court house in 1990 and opened it in 1992.
