that don’t exist yet• Today’s learners will have many

different jobs• To be successful and employable in

today’s world our young people need to be flexible, confident, qualified and have good interpersonal skills.


Choices in Year 9• Opportunities for all our students• All students will study English, Mathematics,

Science, Business, PSHCEE & Citizenship and PE

• All students who have the ability will study separate Sciences

• 2 or 3 choices • Personalised Curriculums for our students


Three Pathways• English Baccalaureate

Pathway

• GCSE Pathway

• Foundation Pathway

• All ensure that our students gain at least 5 GCSEs including English and mathematics


English Baccalaureate• Considered an Academic Pathway

• Suitable for A level and University education

• Employers will also value this standard

• Not to be confused with the new exams that the government where planning to introduce (EBCs instead of GCSEs)


English Baccalaureate• At least 6 GCSEs grade C and above;

• English, Mathematics, at least 2 sciences

• A Modern Language - French or Urdu

• A Humanity choice - Geography or History

• Third option - GCSE A free choice


Core GCSE Pathway

• Option A free choice leading to either BTEC or GCSE

• Option B free choice GCSE

• Option C free choice GCSE

• This pathway will enable you to progress onto A levels, BTEC or an Apprenticeship


Foundation Pathway

• Three choices from a range of practical subjects;

• Sport and Leisure, Child Care, Performing Arts, Textiles

• Leading to BTEC qualifications • In addition study for certificates in;

Horticulture and Gardening, Home Cooking Skills for Life, Safer Driving and First Aid

• You will be able to progress onto college or Apprenticeship
