A 2004 acquisition of Comfort Zone Mechanical, Inc. allowed W.J. O’Neil to expand its reach into the sheet metal market. Before the acquisition, Comfort Zone had primarily focused its efforts on the Ann Arbor (MI) residential sector. By joining WJO, Comfort Zone was able to expand its efforts into the industrial and commercial markets by supporting WJO’s Design and Build Division. W.J. O’Neil now offers clients a fully operational sheet metal shop, complete with its own metal fabrication capabilities.

As the technology for building controls becomes more complex, the need for experience and expertise in managing those systems has become critical. Developing open communication protocols, managing vendors, and integrating with IT systems can be time consuming and costly – and with so many new applications on the market every day, how does one know if they have the appropriate controls system? The Controls Group of the W.J. O'Neil Company excels at simplifying critical building control systems by integrating networked solutions that make buildings safer, smarter and more efficient. WJO’s Controls Group is a system integrator and proficient in blending diverse technologies with a building’s original management system. Our team offers implementation of a custom solution by providing hardware independence, integrated system design and lower life-cycle costs.

The Controls Group has a proven track record in engineering, installation, and maintenance of large-scale Facility Management Systems (FMS) as well as migrating existing proprietary FMS platforms to open protocols.

WJO has extensive experience in multi-building, wide-area integrated network applications with web-based LAN and WAN deployment.
