Hi,
my name is Daniel C. Nwadikeduruibe
and I am a level 6 student studying
BSc Oil and Gas Management, a
student representative and President
of the Oil and Gas Society (OGS) at
GSM London.
I am running for the position of GSM
London Students’ Union President, as I
am passionate about students and
have been involved in the student
movement from an early stage.
I have been regularly communicating
with students and relaying student
feedback to the Union.
GSM London students deserve a
President who is capable to represent
their voice and has their interests at
heart, both within GSM campuses
(Greenford and Greenwich), and
externally. Furthermore, they deserve
a President who is creative and
innovative.

MY EXPERIENCE AND SKILLSI have experience in representationand have developed myadministrative skills and I am adeptin leading individuals, and groups.E.g. with the help of my team (ExCos)I have lead, guided and transformedthe OGS to its present recognition asthe best society at GSM London, andas head basketball coach/mentor, Ihave improved and demonstratedskills such as strong leadership,effective decision making, good timemanagement, being creative, beingempathetic, analytical and a goodproblemsolver. I also have good I.T andpresentation skills. I believe theseskills would make me an idealcandidate for President.

STUDENT SUPPORT,ENGAGEMENT AND CAREER &BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES
Establishing a direct link between studentsand employers/business owners via teamworkwith GSM London’s Career and Employabilitydepartment.
Recognition of student achievements, byimplementing awards like club/society of themonth. This will encourage all students toactively get involved.
Dedicating a ‘Meet your President’ day eachfortnight during every semester across allcampuses to gather student views. I wouldencourage more drop-in sessions, more
suggestion boxes and email surveys.
Increase student participation in NSS, MEQand SPQ.
Seeking for more funding avenues to supportstudents. Also, supporting students withaccommodation/transportation issues.
To increase postgraduate, international,mature and LGBT students’ participation andawareness. I seek to improve communicationsbetween those students by creating moreevents and running forums and workinggroups.

Quarterly presentation and proclamation ofachievements, via union and college platforms.
Improve GSM London facilities to allow theStudents’ Union to deliver services for anever-growing campus.
The development of more social, sporting andrecreational spaces.
Improve student common room with moregames and equipment’s, whilst considering thehealth and safety of students and entire GSMstakeholders.
