Diet

Wolves are carnivores. Which means that they eat meat. They feed mostly on large hooved animals, such as caribou, deer, elk, and moose. They can also save time with smaller animals like squirrels, and birds. Sometimes wolves eat berries.

Packs

Wolves live in groups called packs. The average quantity for a wolf pack is 6-10 wolves. Although, in the winter packs might join together for warmth and protection. In a pack there is a dominate male, a dominant female, and the “babysitters”. A dominate wolf is shown with its head held high, ears perked up, and tail out. A less qualified wolf is shown with its head low, ears back, and the tail in between the wolf’s legs. Wolves howl to gather the rest of the pack, and to show other wolves where they are.
